Because, you know, “Ren and Stimpy” created crazy looking characters…  
 

The crazy part is that years ago, SUPERMARIOGALAXY13 had replaced the ENTIRE background music to match that of Ren and Stimpy’s…sans the introduction and ending.
 
Surprisingly, it fit.

I agree with that but there is just one thing, having one thing with something in common with another doesn’t mean it is in fact one imitating the other, sometimes it’s just nothing more then thay, in this case I call Twi going craze, it’s not like Ren and Stimpy is the only cartoon to have someone go crazy and then have look like that on thair face before FiM.  
So I call bull on “trying and failing to be Ren and Stimpy”, it has to being trying to be like it, and I see nothing to support that, and it’s not.

There’s a difference between a good homage and a poor imitation. MLP has always had references to classic Looney Tunes anyway.

Sorry but AI HATE that, so it had some things in common that doesn’t mean it was trying to be Ren and Stimpy, Griffon the Brush Off had a Pepe le Pew like gag but it wasn;t rying to be Looney Tunes.
