I don’t think US copyright law applies much to derpi, which is based in France. Could be wrong though.
Personal relation to one of the members on the team, they’re better now but having all your hard work destroyed by a company was pretty hard on them
Most everything on this site is illegal and infringing on copyrights. But we ignore that. Because we’d never have fun otherwise.
As for it’s creators being torn up over this, got any source on that? Last I heard they were having a fantastic time. The C&D kinda sped up their journey into becoming a legit games company.

Game devs were legally shut down - game finished and released anyways.

To be quite honest with you, I doubt this is of any problem, Fighting is Magic got taken down due to how much exposure it got, these updates, which are not even provided by Mane Six, are small, very small. I doubt anything will come out of this, frankly.
