it was explained that platinum was too pure to be touched by the bending energies that still uses dirt to bend the materials. i.e. iron.
that explains why I don’t remember it in book two.
The episode before that one as part of the end of Book Two.
They just can’t seem to bend platinum for some reason.
Well gems are of the earth. King Bumi could earth bend gems. Also, when was the first episode that showed off metal bending? I forgot.
If I can metal bend, I can gem bend.
