Well, I was just recently looking for the synopsis of future episodes on this season, and I learned that my previous statement of basing something on this pic would have to completely disregard season 7 or at least the episode titled “Triple Threat”, which’ll likely involve these two meeting. Unless there’s the slim-to-nil chance that they don’t, so a meeting between these two WON’T happen or if they do, Thorax later forgets her (however unlikely that seems). Or rather, just a slim adjustment to if Thorax overhears such a conversation with Ember, he still might think that it means Spike’s leaving Ponyville/Equestria forever… or a regular idea with a love triangle between his friends Thorax and Ember.
 
Either way, I’m assuming that episode might be quite comedic! But then again, I could be wrong and find it quite silly… or disappointing, like other episodes where I expected something different to happen that didn’t turn out that way. Oh well, time will tell, when it comes out! I greatly look forward to it with two returning characters this season from last season (even though both already appeared in the premiere; but one appeared only in a fantasy, the other in a small amount given the focus of the episode)! ^^

Even though I’m STILL a Sparity fan after all these seasons and the moments/episodes involving the two of them seem like they aren’t anymore as heavy on a sub-romance plot (though there are still quite a few), this does get me in the feels kinda. Since Spike was Thorax’s first friend and even as king, he could have his pick of any changedling (for the term of the new changeling forms) he wanted, he wants his first friend to be his lover.
 
Still, I’d like to think of this as an open ending that could end happily, not necessarily a sad one despite the source’s description. Or more than happily, leaving no one heartbroken if in this scenario, Ember does have a thing also for Spike possibly with him being her first friend too. Heck, if I could get inspired to write more often again, I’d do something with this scenario… and even though I’m into writing stuff with porn more often than not, I feel that maybe I could do this one without any, being one of the few romance ideas I’ve had without a need for it! XD

Spike and Ember are talking and Ember asks spike to solve a friendship problem in the dragon lands. Thorax thinks Spike is never coming back and has his heart broken because he was gonna confess his feelings towards Spike and he now feels he’ll never get to.
