Nah, he was about as interesting as Flash. I mean let’s be real, both ships relied on a flaw in the guy and even Flash had a few other points to him as seen in those Friendship Games shorts. But I digress.
 
Flash and Twilght’s relationship was them bumping into each other and then being awkwardly adorable.
 
Timber and Twilight’s relies on him saying something corny (usually involving him being full of himself) and then her giggling about it.
 
That’s not much of an improvement. Especially considering these both lead to nowhere, this one more so it seems cause it looked like there might be another Equestria Girls coming and considering he lives in the country with his sister, I’m betting he might not appear at all in it.
 
Then there’s how Sci-Twi and Timber were making googoo eyes first time their eyes met and he was already making a move on her in their first interaction, Flash and Poni-Twi didn’t start the googoo eyes til their second meeting and more due to an awkward moment. Flash also didn’t start making a move til after she united the school in song at lunch, showing her good intentions and then after he cleared her name. Not much better than with Timber and Sci-Twi but at least it was as rushed and forced (despite Flash being created specifically to be a love interest).
 
It almost felt like Timber being with Sci-Twi was an after thought. It was just padding to get the running time they needed is how this felt and it also seemed more like them being all “Well, everyone hated Flash so let’s just replace him”.

He’s not a bad guy, and the fact that he’s really into himself makes him a little more flawed and interesting than Flash at least.
 
Personally I still suspect he’s a bit of a player though, and that Twilight should be a little more suspicious of handsome older men you meet on holiday.
