The comic is loosely canon.
 
And recently, (spoilers S9): Fluttershy reformed Ahuizotl, and no one else did reformed him but Fluttershy.

On second thought, I’m glad I don’t read the comics anymore.

I think this is a situation where people just have different tastes. The first panel, I like. The second, not so much.
 
I mean, I do like how he’s all, “Muahahaha! I have defeated Daring Do and…and…I’m sorry, I don’t think we’ve been formally introduced yet.” There’s just something about the second panel that feels ‘off’ to me. But that’s just me, and if others like it, there’s nothing wrong with that. I mean, I like most of Andy Price’s work, but I know there are a lot of people who don’t, and that’s fine.

The ways he draws Ahuizotl kinda fluctuates, but in these two panels he looks fine to me. I like his “WTF?” face.

Careful, or Tex is going to post a bunch of images where pony limbs look noodley. rubbery, or “off” in the show too. :P
 
Frankly, I’ve seen worse, especially in anthro’ fanart where they try to combine human & pony legs into some kinda weird hybrid chicken legs, yet nobody complains about “anatomy” in those. (I guess they’re too fixated on dem hourglass figures.)

I don’t really read the IDW comics, so I don’t really pay attention to who the artists are. In this case, I like how cutesy Fosgitt draws the ponies, but I really dislike how he draws Ahuizotl throughout the issue. At least, based on the few panels people have put up.

I like his art too, in fact, I actually like the way Ahuizotl is drawn here. The expressions suit his hammy villain persona.
 
He’s not always perfect, but yeesh he gets more hate then he deserves from bronies.  
I’ll take Jay over Tony & Agnes any day personally.

Guess I’m in the minority who likes Fosgitt’s art. In fact, I see nothing wrong in this shot here.

I was curious about this comic and considered picking it up on the IDW app… until I saw this artwork. I just… ugh.

You know, now that you mention it, I can totally see that the art isn’t exactly perfect. Of course, I personally think the story is decent enough. Who would’ve guessed that Daring’s afraid of spiders?

I was never a fan of jay fosgitt’s art and this comic did not help
