I don’t consider her sacrosanct or anything along those lines. If there’s a legitimate effort to write a deconstruction of the story/role/etc she represents, then I’d probably judge it based on the usual stuff (does the deconstruction make sense/is it executed well/etc). This doesn’t fall into that category from what I can tell, as it just appears to be a one-off erotic image.
 
I also don’t consider rape a quality of a badass character. If anything, it seems like the sort of sign that a character has cracked/snapped, and is straying toward the fallen hero/antagonist territory.

maybe I’m just odd about this, but I find character deconstruction to be endearing, even heartwarming. it kind of scares me when a character is so sacrosanct that nobody can even speculate on what might have been. like, seeing littlepip being a total badass here, or like seeing cadance as a unicorn guardspony makes the constant pink princess stuff more bearable. it’s just nice I dunno.

There’s definitely more raw manpower poured into a show like MLP, but that’s not the sort of thing that usually endears me to a story. If anything, the less something feels like a commercial work, the more likely I am to want to stick to it’s canon (assuming I’d liked it).
 
I’ve also been exposed to much more canon-conflicting fan works for MLP than for Fallout Equestria, so I’m probably more jaded toward the former.
 
I’d also argue that FE’s deviation from MLP’s canon served a more valuable purpose than this image’s deviation from the FE universe. FE introduced grimdark deviations from MLP to show that if Equestria had human-like short-comings which drove it into oblivion, a spark of hope could start pulling it back together. This image depicts POV-Pip rape so that it can act as a one-off erotic image.

A lot of time was put into FE yes, but a lot more time was put into the show. I’ve never seen anyone get as mad as they seemed to in these comments about say Cadence or Shining acting outside of their established preferences in fan work, not to mention all the incest that would never happen.  
I mean if you think about it, FE itself was a big ‘fuck you’ to all the characterization put into the show, since the residents of that world would clearly never resort to those things. And zebras aren’t even close enough to resort to those things; they’re from ‘a far away land’.
