Emerald writes a message to Ruby, saying to meet him here, and then draws a bucket of water splashing over a pony’s head.
 
Emerald then quietly makes his way over to the creek where he had his bath, snaking his way through the tents to make sure he isn’t being followed and he doesn’t get spotted.
 
As Emerald approaches the creek he notices something odd. It’s pitch black at night by now, but there is some sort of light source hanging over the water. As he creeps forward, Emerald spots two ponies.
 
The first is a unicorn mare standing with an authoritative nonchalance. At first Emerald was convinced it was Joyride and was quite confused what she was doing out here. She shares the same mane, eye, and coat color… Even he clothes are the same sage green. The colt notices however that she is much taller, and he also has to admit, much more conventionally beautiful despite looking older than his master. This mare also has a leathery looking eyepatch over her left eye.
 
The other pony is Ruby, who has been tied up by the legs and has been gagged. She looks around desperately and pulls at her bindings.
 
Emerald lowers himself into the grass and tries to think.
