I like that idea. Impossible to say if that is actually the case between them, but it’s definitely a very nice idea for a fic. Hopefully someone who sees that comment sits down and writes it.

I’m not sure if it even can be seen on the expression in the eyes which relationship there is between two people. But somehow, this strikes me as the way one would look at his/her little brother.
Episode ends before the race ends, so if your headcanon is Derpy’s cart wins, no one can prove you wrong.
I always headcanon’d her (Dinky) as Derpy’s niece, with Written Script (Derpy’s brother) and Carrot Top/Golden Harvest as her parents. Also, Amethyst Star is related to Golden Harvest, not Derpy.
