So why didn’t Sci-Twi put away her device when she realized that it was doing something to the people who were trying to be nice to her? I would be lying if I said that I liked her, since, despite being a scientist and creating a magic stealing device, she’s not very bright, not even in a absent-minded professor way. She and the rest of Crystal Prep just killed the movie for me, and the peer pressure song (that I swear is a mix between Be Prepared and Mother Changeling) didn’t help at all.

I think this is more of “Don’t let my dark side be released again.”  
In Sunset’s & Luna’s case, it was mostly their fault. Twi wasn’t exactly, so her fear is more about what she seals inside her than what she became.
