Well, after those filthy peons decided to bely the media narrative that’s been claiming for three months already that their movement is dying, and to set fire to one of the symbols of the plutocracy in power, thereby making a laughingstock of his Minister of Police Brutality, Christophe Castaner, he had no choice but put his foot down, really.  
And guess what? It works! They already managed to send a 70-year-old woman to the hospital last Saturday because she was waving a rainbow flag. That’s something to be proud of, isn’t it?  
Better than the alternative of, you know, hearing people out — since pretending to do it with the “great national debate” didn’t work so well; as a great Frenchman once said: “You can fool one person a thousand times, you can fool a thousand people once, but you can’t fool a thousand people a thousand times.”

Unlike what that bitch Marine Le Pen would have us believe to get elected, the “fiche S” isn’t a proof of terrorism. The most the authorities can do is keep an eye on those guys, and since there are over 10,000 “fichés S” in France (and not all of them for terrorist activities or integrism), some have a hotter profile than others (the Champs-Elysées shooter had a profile mostly because he opened fire during a police check 16 years ago).  
On the other hand, the guys who were planning to attack a political meeting at Marseille at the beginning of the week got tracked down and caught handily before they could even act.
