@Background Pony #03DC Yea, pretty much my only problem is starting directly from Wrath killing Lust. That bizarre topple-fall… Flopple? That was pretty much the last bit of it.
Was completely amazing the rest of the way. I think the writers just got burned out or something.
Felt like even the characters themselves ran out of steam after their long journey.
And while I appreciate the irony they were trying to go for, Gluttony taking out Dante was a bit silly.
You know that feeling you get when it’s 20 minutes from the end of a horror movie and too many people are still alive? That was how the writing started to feel. Trying to “close up” too many holes at once.
also I thought the characterisation was done a lot better, and there was a lot less “stupid humour.” Probably the worst example of that in Brotherhood is placing Hughes’ death right next to a sequence straight out of Azumanga Daioh or similar. Weird whiplash feeling.

Huh, I thought I was the only one who preferred the original FMA anime to the more faithful to the manga adaption.
Honestly didn’t care for how the manga turned out in the end really and preferred the original anime.

Normally ‘most logical’ includes the data we already know about, and what is already ruled out. You’re not doing that, so your argument would only work on someone who read the synopsis of the mlp episodes. We’ve SEEN all of spike’s interactions.

It is not one way or the other, everybody but twilight has been ruled our as a familial connection. Spike has been formal with all of twilight’s older friends and teachers. And..>_>..if spike was ever raised by twi’s parents, then he has even less of an emotional connection to them then twi.

And, let’s face it, that’s saying something.

Once you rule out the impossible, the improbable, however unlikely, must be true. Knowing what we know about the way celestia raised twilight and gave tests like sombra, we know how skewed her judgment can be. The improbale becomes more probable. The impossible stayes impossible.

Celestia is not twilight’s mother, she did not even admonish her for abusing her magic in lesson zero that through half the town into chaos, she waited until the other 5 took blame, and gave twi all the credit for the yaks.

Celestia is wise but she is not always wise or impartial. She is not Zecora. This is common knowledge.

Though since it has not said one way or the other you can’t simply make the assumption that Twillight has been raising Spike as a filly ever since she first joined Celestia’ School for Gifted Unicorns and hatched the dragon.

As such I argue the only reasonable consideration is the most logical, especially since the show has not indicated that Twilight has been raising Spike this whole time.

More, I have to disagree and still very strongly argue that this would be out of character for Twilight and if you were to say she did Princess Celestia would be having a stern talking to with her to make sure it never happened again.

@TexasUberAlles
Exactly

….Problem is, show continuity has their lips shut on the Spike matter COMPLETELY. After 6 seasons they haven’t hinted to anybody raising Spike besides Twilight. Not Shining, not Cadence, not Twi’s mother and father, and not Celestia. Yes, he acts formal even around Celestia, despite the fanon of Spike-Momlestia.

Spike’s canon in-show relationship with Twilight has always been fucked up, its a weird mix between equal friends and servant depending on the time and place. That’s how its always been since S1.

With that in mind, the idea that Celestia did something super irresponsible while teaching Twilight, which we all know about, and that Twilight said some things as a mere child that one would regret, which could totally happen, there is nothing odd about Twi saying this honestly.

This is actually pretty level with kids “who don’t adjust immediately to the parents bringing the new baby home”, and this was going to be extra fucked up because the show has only hinted that Spike knew Twilight personally growing up, not anybody else, meaning Spike was only her responsibility, not her parents. And we know that Twilight has the most trouble with empathy among the six, so its not like she is naturally maternal like Fluttershy.

@EquestrianScholar
That’s an assumption we would all make…. if the show hinted towards that at all, instead of the opposite. Your right, it is the most logical choice, but it isn’t the continuity the show has gone with. There was no other person.

First off, that’s implying she even raised Spike as an infant where there’s technically no indication of such in the TV series itself. Given how she would be focused on her learning and studies, as Princess Celestia’s student, it would make the most logical sense that someone else was raising spike at first until both are older.

She’s a child being told to take time away from things that are important to her in order to take care of an infant, without having been given any sort of apparent instruction or practical assistance,and she’s had a really bad time of it because “nurturing and motherly” aren’t in her nature. She hasn’t really been treated any better than Spike has.

While, I suppose it offers a warning of who to stay away from online, and offers some humor, (or tell people how NOT to act online) you have a point. The doxing, and such are going too far, and it’s crossing the line of internet bullying. As you said, many of these people are just nobodies with severe personality or mental issues.

I think while some like PinkiePony deserve being on there, (for all the trouble she caused, and exposed as a hypocrite, and troublemaker) BUT I don’t believe she deserves to be doxed, harassed, or anything like that…
To be fair, she has stopped hate-mongering bronies, (which was always ironic as she was basically a female one) and has been very quiet, and hasn’t stirred up any trouble, sense the VikingLumberjack incident. (Helped that Viking even threatened to sue her, and her online cronies for what she did to her.)
Overall, we haven’t heard from her in years, so best to leave her alone, and leave all the drama & trouble she caused in the past.

I hear some like Chris Chan have actually managed to cash-in on their internet-notoriety, and embrace it surprisingly.

@Beau Skunky
ED stopped being satire the moment when it started publishing dox and veered into obsessivley documenting the life of nobodies (ex:Chris-Chan,Ray Jones and the lot) who are by no means public figures,just random dudes with either weird quirks, mental issues or just a bad DeviantArt account (when it’s not all those thing at the same time) nuff said.This is the litteral definition of “punching down” (though i realize Internet is more and more murking the lines between what is a public figure and a nobody ,which allow this kind of abuse).That’s where you cross the line between “satire” and “Internet mob using satire as excuse for antisocial behavior and stalking”.If we were the last century,ED would be the circus freak show owner,exploiting the voyeuristic tendenciesof mankind for whatever is sick and weird for a quick buck.

I dont like this Internet that enable being stalked and doxed just because you can’t draw Sonic properly or ship him in a homesexual relationship with a tentacle monster/Tails hybrid in a stupid fanfic.The danger,the cruelty,the sadism you can potentially face for being an harmless weirdo (or in the most extreme case like Chris-Chan,merely a nuisance for the local authorities of BackwardsTown,USA to take care of)are disproportionated

One slight difference is ED is a bit more satirical, but regardless you have a point. Sometimes both ED & Horse News go overkill.

While, I don’t support internet linchings, and such, I actually have run into a few people chronicalled on that ED site, (Like LouisTheHedgehog, whom tried to convince me to join his ridiculous anti-Sega crusade…) and they are quite strange, or creepy, I’m sorry to say.
The KP drama in comparison is quite tame.

@Beau Skunky
Even if i made that comment,i’ll temperate my opinion and that they are less LESS toxic than Encyclopedia Dramatica which are the unrivaled champion when it comes to lowest common denominator pandering ,sensationalist,scandal-mongering glorified call-out post.At least Horse News never hosted dox (and i hope i’ll never have to add “yet”).Still,the existence of a 4Chan-esque call-out website is completely out of place in a fandom from a show about how friendship is magic.Critique of the shows and comic are fair-game of course even if i disagree with their opinions,endlessly wailing about how Johnny Nobody from the fandom got in an Internet fisticuffs with WhatHisName, that’s the point where you have to get a life.

Indeed… Ken Penders is even working on his own eckidnya (totally original alien species unrelated to Sonic, he says) comic now…

Lien-Da was kinda cool, despite her blatant fetish-fuel. John Grey the artist who helped design her for Ken even joked about it.

Yeah, I agree, he tried to make ‘em “too epic,” and such at times. Ken also had some odd ideas about the characters, and sense he never played the games, or watch the old shows, (too old for that stuff) I guess he didn’t have a good idea what Sonic was. He even admitted he didn’t pay much attention to issues written by other writers, (under the intention of “only using his own ideas”) which created some continuity problems. He didn’t collaborate with others well.

@Beau Skunky LoL damn, he really did have it bad.

It’s been too long since I read them, but what stood out most to me is “Crazy-sexy-whipmamachidna” Lien-Da. Reminds me of the questionable nature of the old Wonder Woman comics.

also a lot of the time it just didn’t feel sanic, more like he was stuffing Sonic characters into an old tabletop RPG session.

ILoveKimPossibleAlot, a semi-popular Youtube Pegasister (girl brony) who does reviews of the show, and does other things sometimes. There’s been some drama over her lately, but it’s best not to get into it, right now. (As it’s kinda going off-topic.)
