It just seems kind of wrong for someone to go browse random people’s profiles for stuff to post.

Alright look. A while ago for about a month I tried asking permission from every artist who didn’t have a presence on Derpibooru themselves and/or didn’t have anything on their profile or image descriptions saying whether or not they were okay with their art being posted. It ended up being something like 65 artists altogether that I PM’d. The overwhelming bulk were exuberated to say yes. Only 3 said no, and one of the 3 said no because they wanted to post it here themselves. Many of them took days or even a week to respond, and I remember several times someone else on Derpibooru posted the image in question before the artist even responded to me. Overall, it’s a massive waste of time and I stopped.
 
Honestly, it’s substantially easier for you as the artist to make it known that you don’t want your stuff reposted or you want permission to be asked. I always check for this. In your case, the fact that the image was a redraw of someone else’s made me extra-confident it wouldn’t be a problem, and if I saw you had a profile here yourself, I’d have been even more confident.

I would’ve done the same. It’d be terrible being chained to a stone tower exposed to the elements, and having to listen to a whiny complaining loudmouthed princess all day on top of that.

Well, it may be a hassle. But that doesn’t give you an excuse to not to ask permission.

Sorry, with the number of images I upload a day, asking for each becomes a bit of a hassle. I check everything short of that, images descriptions, your profile, the DNP list… only once in a blue moon is that not enough.

Could you, uh, I dunno. Ask before taking work off people’s Furaffinity pages?

Meh…humans are overrated…Dragon Lord are much better.
