The “Power Ponies” and their costumes were originally designed to match perfectly with the Mane 6’s (and Spike’s) color schemes. Naturally, when making a comic about the “real” Power Ponies, you can’t color them the same as the Mane 6, so you have to give them new colors while keeping their costumes/clothes the same.
I don’t mind the color scheme. In fact, It makes the Power Ponies world look a little less sugar coated compared to from what I’m use to watch in the show.

Agreed, especially in regards to the backstories of them and how they even got together would also be great.
Besides, I like them a lot more than the Mane 6 being them.

You aren’t the only one who thinks that. Hasbro/DHX puts a lot of thought into the pony color schemes; the artist here apparently didn’t.
