No, but since I was graduating, there was plenty to take my mind off it afterwards. I didn’t dwell on it too much.

Ah, so everything that was told in the description then. Okay. I can see why this episode would be upsetting for them. They are basically Rainbow Dash in this episode. Mistranslating the intent of the Wonderbolt’s name calling as malicious because of a bullying problem long ago.
If I recall, I think the artist said that English was not their first language, and that they’ve experienced bullying before.

Yup. Navy flier here… nobody has a flattering callsign. Part of the reason for this tradition is because, yes, we are all Type A “Zipper-suited Sun Gods” who show up our of FRS feeling invincible… everyone needs to be humbled; especially when lives are at risk due to the complacency that comes from thinking you’re the best.
I was never a pilot, but once I took a backseat ride in one of the jets and for that the fighter jocks insist that you have a call sign. Suffice to say mine did refer to an embarrassing incident involving mid-level drunkenness. Totally my fault.
