That’s not a good thing, it’s never explained why she’s so powerful she just is for the heck of it. At least it’s explained with discord and twilight, Discord is an immortal god of chaos and twilight is the element of magic the spark, starlight is just… starlight no reason for her powers she just is because the plot demands it.

To be fair, very few people were actually aware of all the horrible shit that she did. She’s a fair bit more subtle about it than Discord when she isn’t making terribly unfunny references to it…

Hey! She is clearly more powerful than Twilight. She can fly and she doesn’t have wings, and was doing so while matching Twilight in combat… She’s been shown as the most powerful non-Discord character, at least from what the show has actually shown us (Celestia is supposed to be more powerful, but the most she’s ever done is shoot lasers at a blizzard).

Not to sound like a jerk Starlight but you can’t really blame them.
