Celestia: Where’s Discord when you need him?

Celestia there’s something called using your words. Also her legs are ridiculously small its almost distracting.

Indeed. If Celestia wasn’t so revered in the realm of Equestria, its easy to imagine that Rainbow Dash would amp up her ‘nerd teasing’ to extend to her brown-nosing relationship with the princess. She’d totally be an athlete version of Griff for Twilight. XD
 
Applejack would probably do a little bit of teasing when its necessary(she did a little in S5E1), Rarity would probably defend it half the time and the other half she’d encourage Twilight to pursue her own interests, Fluttershy probably wouldn’t be put off by it much except in rare bursts of frustration, and Pinkie wouldn’t care at all but the others would compare Twilight’s stiffness with Pinkie ability to have fun.
 
Its a dynamic that’s always been there but never touched upon. I hope Celestia’s skepticism of Twi here is foreshadowing that there will be less tiptoeing around Twilight’s brown-nosing in the future.

Considering what happened with Gauntlet of Fire (she and Luna remarking on how infrequently they get to relax and visit, and being interrupted by yet another crisis) I’d imagine it’s less annoyance than disappointment. Very little seems to go right for her, these days.

Celestia is not amused. Someone is going to the moon soon…

Not to mention this is the same test She taught Twilight with her first lesson of friendship and here is Twilight the Supposed “Princess of Friendship” Lying through her teeth and straight up forcing friends on Starlight Glimmer; her student; instead of allowing her to make friends on her own.
 
 
Yeah Twilight you need to rethink what you think is friendship and stop holding grudges. This is Discord all over again. What’ll happen if a former villain actually comes in peace and wishes for things to be different and willing to change. Twilight would never trust them and treat them like a criminal furthering herself from the title “Friendship”. Before you go judging on who should be friends with who Twilight, You should look in the mirror and see what you are doing when forcing friendships and not allowing them to blossom naturally.
 
Lesson of the episode: Don’t hold a grudge and everypony deserves a second chance for redemption. Yeah Trixie got 3 (Magic Duel 2nd chance and now this being her 3rd chance) but still the lesson is there.

Also its pretty clear that while Celestia guided her into the role of princess, she thought that Twilight would gain some independence and not try to desperately kiss up this late on.
 
…However, its becoming increasingly clear that Twilight prefers to be a neurotic kiss up, and that this whole princess/teacher thing may not have been such a good idea.
 
Twilight is basically like Simmons from Red vs Blue.

Yes, thank you. As ruler of a bloody nation I doubt she has a lot of free time, so I can’t imagine her being super happy about blowing it at a lame and awkward diner party.
 
And Twilight lying through her teeth would be the icing on the cake.

well she took time out of her schedule to come out here only for her former student and now fellow princess to straight up lie to her face and drag a bunch of other ponies in to try to help cover up for her
 
she has every right to be pissed.
