The breezies were just lazy.
The trillionares who, through shady business practices and blocking of important legislation, made it all but impossible to get a decent job.
When there is a person who has spent 20 years in IT with mountains of experience and the college education to go with it who is forced to work at Walmart because he can’t find a job, something is inherently wrong.
Is survival still a basic human right if someone deliberately chooses to do nothing but sit around and consume? Does trying to make them do even a bit of work go against their rights?
If I could do nothing all day and still get food and electricity and shelter, I’d be all over that if I could. When hundreds or thousands of people do that, who pays to keep it all going?
The problem is that people have to work their asses off to provide those things, and you think they should just do all that for nothing?
Yeah, you have a pretty solid argument. In my opinion, I don’t think that the things needed for survival should cost money, surviving is a basic human right. I agree with what you said about hobbies, but unfortunately, you need money to do a lot of hobbies. I am 100% with a lot of what you’re saying, but I guess I just have issue with the fact that food, water, sleep, and shelter are considered commodities as opposed to rights. There is no way you can justify homelessness being a thing.
Try to look at it this way:
The brother apparently has some sort of complex that needs to get over with and the episode might be more about that than the fact he has to look for a job.
In any case, let’s be honest. You can’t really expect the episode ending with the brother deciding to stay in the house forever and not contributing with anything or helping her sister with something if he stays. She does has her limits after all.

My opinion on the matter:

OK? How is that a criticism against the episode that hasn’t aired?
I’m not trying to derail the thread, I saw some comments relating to the moral of this episode, and I thought I would weigh in. I went on a brief tangent in my last comment, but brought it back to the subject at hand. I’m just trying to give my two cents on the matter.
>Trying to derail thread
You’re not even trying, aren’t ya?
Let me explain. The basic plot is that Fluttershy’s brother comes to move in with Fluttershy, but Fluttershy wants to have him get a job, right? Now, in my opinion, the idea that everyone has a place in society, and that we are all cogs in a machine is a very fascist ideology, and if you look at the economy, you will see that America isn’t exactly in a warm spot. So this episode comes across to me as a push to get people to get jobs when they grow up. It kinda reminds me of a Spongebob episode, except Spongebob doesn’t take itself seriously, so it was funny when Spongebob had that plot.
That makes very little sense.

get out
>Impudent person found a job
>He’s waiting for salary
>Salary is here
>Zero dollars is used for paying for food or bills, why would he waste it on that? His relatives already covered that.
>Wasted all the money for alcohol instead
>Sleeps for a week
>Realizes he’s already fired
Um… “Useful member of society”, yay?
I was raised up eating airplanes.
Seasons 1 and 2 had a lot more average episodes than any other season, and season 3, while it did have 6 bad episodes, also had some of the best episodes of the series, including the premiere and finale, which I feel get way too much hate, though I know it’s only a vocal minority.
And what do you mean “it’s wasted on the plot straight out of South Park”? A synopsis is always oversimplified, the execution is always more important, and are you saying south park sucks?

I don’t think you know what a freeloader is.
It’s a person who takes advantage of others’ generosity without giving anything in return.
If they relay on him to do stuff for them he’s helping them, so not freeloading.
And if the reason he lives with this is by somthing he can’t control that is also not freeloading, he has to be taking advantage of them because he doesn’t want to do anything to be a freeloader.
Edited
Looks like that won’t happen though, but it would be a better episode, in my opinion.
Though hopefully they’ll acknowledge that he’s not like that because he wants to be.
