This is the short answer of why people likes her so much:
The design is pretty good —in the opinion of a lot of people—, is a dragon and has an interesting personality. Just that.
Anyway, everyone here has a personal opinion, this seems to be popular in most of us.
Not enough to tag all the dragon pics being uploaded the last couple days with “dragon” though. FeelsBadMan
They’re the first female dragons in FiM in many years. Are you seriously surprised that they’re popular?
That’s true. I do kind of enjoy seeing new characters, I guess Ember is just one of those times where the new character felt kind of Meh to me. To each his own.

People love new characters because it gives them something more to do with.
That’s why characters like Ember and Sunbursts are getting so much artwork

I personally feel indifferent to her. I can understand people liking her. What I don’t get is why she’s suddenly so popular.
Lot of people here just like dragons
I’m not surprised there’s people who don’t like her, but you seriously don’t understand why there are people who like her?
If you don’t like MLP dragon designs I can see why it’s hard to figure out.
And I want to rub them/massage them.
It’s not you; she has lion/feline paws.
