Almost as soon as Emerald enters the cannon room again he hears a curse from one of the nearby sailors, who dives sideways behind the cannon.
 
There is a mighty crash as the wall and floor near the cannon seem to explode, sending shards of wood everywhere.
 
Emerald only has a second to realize it was probably a shot from the ship they are attacking before everyone else has already gotten back to their hooves and attempts to return fire. A voice giving a yelp of pain causes Emerald to turn around in concern.
 
“Owww…” Ruby says, holding a hoof to her forehead.
 
“Lemee see.” One of the pirates says, pulling away her hoof, “A deep cut, but nuthin’ serious. You got lucky kid, but I think that’s enough cannon work for you.”
 
The pirate then straightens up and says, “Buck! Sundance!”
 
An earth pony and a unicorn come over, and the pirate continues, “Go check the storage to make sure nothing is broke. Take this one with you.”
 
Ruby protests, but is dragged along downstairs with the two ponies. No one seems to be paying much attention to Emerald.
