We’ve seen Twilight Sparkle and Cadance join their levitation magic to lift objects together before. Here, though, Cadance is “taking over” part of Twilight’s spell, something we’ve never seen unicorns do before.
 
Apparently unicorn spells, once cast, are pre-programmed and only require “fueling” by a unicorn to keep going. Any unicorn can do the “fueling”, and we can see their contribution by the color of the spell.
