Well I hope you are happy with using unicorns like snips and snails because if you start out with the best unicorns they’ll be bred out of the gene pool and you’ll be left with just hicks like them.
Basically, while you’ll be forcing all of your good soldiers to die off other nations will be breeding more warriors that might even be better than the ones you had to begin with.
Also, you need good genes and good training to make a good soldier, you ain’t gonna make snips and snails into good soldiers methinks.

I’m the guy who prefers nurture over nature. Soldiers aren’t born, they’re made.
Plus, the army has unicorns, who mostly just need magic, so it’s not like they need to supporters of eugenics or whatever.
This applies to humans with horses. Humans don’t give two sh*ts about the horse’s breeding ability as long they can ride them. I don’t think anyone in Equestria would join to do that.
