Not a Llama - Happy April Fools Day!

@Nightfury
Ancient Egypt was the first true unitary nation-state, with a culture lasting nearly 4000 contiguous years almost unaltered. They were masters of engineering, architecture, mathematics (the base 12 system in use for everything from the imperial system of measurements to time itself dates to them!), agriculture (they invented beer), and much more.

They deserve respect.

When your pool of marriageable people is severely limited by religion, politics and status, you tend to have that.

Well, the most-known examples were them and the Ptolemaics, who started to adopt the same custom after they started to rule over Egypt.

Egyptian pharaohs were often severely inbred due to them not mating with commoners because they had divine blood (or at least claimed to have) and they had massive dental problems due to bread makers in egypt not separating the chaf from the wheat. they had to grind their bread with their teeth like ecstasy tablets

Ahem. That is not a whip, it is a flail–a grain flail, that is, a symbolic attribute of Egyptian rulership along with the crook. Further, pharaohs were neither any better nor worse than comparable monarchs in other places throughout history; assuming you’re associating it with slave driving, know that chattel slavery en masse was not really a thing in Egypt. For instance, they did not build the pyramids with slave labor, but with well-paid guilds, essentially contracted labor unions (and certainly not by Jewish ones, since it’s unlikely there even were any Jews in Egypt at that time…).

When Equestria was in Egypt’s land
Let my ponies go
Oppressed so hard they could not stand
Let my ponies go

Go down, Twilight,
Way down in Egypt’s land
Tell old Pharaoh,
“Let my ponies go!”
