It’s been what like what? Five Months now, if you still haven’t seen the Force Awakens, then that’s your own lookout!
For me it seemed totally natural, since she was losing to Ren until she rejected the Dark Side and zenned out, which seemed a very appropriate thing. When Rey turned around and beat Ren, it’s because she was really letting the force flow into her, augmenting something she was already good at to a level where she could win against overwhelming odds. Just like when Luke managed to make the shot on the exhaust port.
Yeah, I really don’t get the hate around the || ‘Rey kicking Kylo’s ass’ scene ||. Now, if the next, or last, movie doesn’t explain this THEN I’ll have a legit reason to shit on this scene. Until then, I’m gonna wait and see…
SPOILERS
You’d know if you saw TFA.
This sooo this… Its not even a joke, but, the younglings will never know about it and just assume that it goes the other way.
Indeed I don’t want to be overly harsh because I understand that it’s a trilogy and things will be unravelled and explained further as we carry on, so yeah, we’ll see.
And LOL
Only time will tell.
@Litrojia
Perhaps, but they could have done far worst.
I admittedly liked some of the comedy moments, BB-8 was pretty cool in-particular with that, and I liked Finn and that kind of perspective for a character, but yeah I agree with you overall, they did seem to overdo it with the comedy too IMO.
Yeah I know, it’s true that his training wasn’t finished, but we’ve also seen that Kylo is very powerful overall, far more so than Rey, who’s only ever really shown beating off some thugs with her staff, and Kylo has potentially years of training behind him, with Luke and Snoke, hell he could stun people in place whilst holding a blaster bolt in place without even thinking about it, something we’ve never seen a Sith do in these films, he even knocked Rey out against a tree just before their battle, despite his injuries.
I can accept that maybe she’s just very gifted to an extent, but at the same time so were Luke and Anakin, but they still had to train to attain their levels of power respectively, and they still lost battles.
I’m hoping that Ep VIII goes into an explanation as to why she’s so powerful, if they go with an “amnesia” type of plot line, then I can pretty much fully accept it, if not, it may or may not necessarily sit very well with me, but we’ll see what happens.
@Lokizade
Along with all of that, there were a lot of deus ex machina moments and comedy. Star Wars has always been light-hearted for the kids, but it seemed like in TFA, someone was cracking a joke or something every minute or so, even during tense scenes. It doesn’t need to be dark and gory, but if I want a comedy, I can go watch Spaceballs or something.
We have seen that Rey can hold her own in a fight though, I’m not totally bugged by that. Plus it is made obvious that Kylo’s trainning wasn’t finished so it was like to students fighting each other. I think that Rey might be kinda like a second Anakin where she’s very powerful in the force.
I know, and I do hope that this trilogy is good cause if not then this will be a huge disappointment, again. But if I hear one thing about sand then I’m gonna march down to JJ’s house and burn him alive.
Spoiler warning.
Which is one of my primary problems with it, that and the duel between Rey and Kylo, it bugs me that Rey is SO powerful whilst having zero training, but hey, maybe ep VIII will clarify that she had amnesia or something and was actually trained at some point, and was tapping into her dormant powers.
I know he was injured and all, but it still bothered me a bit, looking forward to some explanations for some things.
yea its like new hope…but thats not a problem , not yet…it will be problem if the next movie is like the empire strikes back , everything depends on the next movie if that trilogy is going to be good
So who else liked watching Episode 7 A New Hope version 2.0?
Han shot first
I had a few issues with the movie myself, but I definitely enjoyed his character, and I LOVE his outfit design.
