I can imagine an AU Sunburst that was bullied a lot by others. And then he just disappeared. And from that moment on Starlight declared that she would never let another foal suffer from feeling left out.
I don’t hate Cutie Remark’s ending as much as I used to, but I would’ve liked to have seen something like this.

did starlight glimmer ever go to canterlot school? she seems a little older than sunset. also sunset was already a grown mare being celestia student. I dont think she would bully fillies or colts but rather those her own age. and she didnt even do that so busy studying.

This origin would’ve been so much better than what we got. Plus, it would’ve explained Starlight Glimmer’s magical prowess. There is literally zero reason Starlight Glimmer should be as talented at casting spells as she is.

for me, I always had the idea that she used to be friends with Trixie as well as Lightning dust and Suri polomare when they were blank flanks and were in cmc’s position during the blank days (like in this pic) and each of them sort of started leaving the circle when they started getting their marks.

Before the finale, I saw Starlight’s origin story, or at least a part of it, to have something much like this. It’d explain her growing hatred of cutie marks as well. Also, I like the detail and visible emotions put into this picture.

I would admit I like the idea of all three unicorns being tied together in the past, a point where all the traits that use to define them were on display or being formed and in the same school Twilight has in no less.
