While watching “The Mane Attraction” and listening to the lyrics of Ra-Ra’s song at the ending, I couldn’t help but think that her situation could’ve also been situated towards Diamond Tiara; seeing as both of them were “doing as they were told” and weren’t being true to themselves, and once both of them discovered who they were truly meant to be, both of them began to shine and be true to themselves.
So I have a headcanon where after Coloratura left Ponyville and returned home, that she and AJ continued to write letters like they used to as fillies. During some of those letters, AJ let Apple Bloom write to her as well, where Apple Bloom told Ra-Ra all about her and the CMC, and how she and the girls earned their cutie marks by helping Diamond Tiara discover who she truly was.
After learning about Diamond Tiara and her being raised under neglectful circumstances, Ra-Ra returns to Ponyville in search of Diamond Tiara.
After meeting her and her parents, Ra-Ra forms a bond with the filly, and felt a connection to her, seeing as she saw a lot of herself in this little filly, and felt she didn’t deserve the life she had before she became true to herself and stood up to Spoiled Rich.
From then on, whenever Ra-Ra would visit Ponyville, she and Diamond Tiara spent time together, and Diamond Tiara came to look up to Ra-Ra as the mother figure and inspiration she never had.
Just as AJ gave Coloratura the nickname “Ra-Ra”, Ra-Ra gave Diamond Tiara the nickname, “Di-Ra” (Diamond Tiara)

…Who am I kidding? This will start with hoofsies.
To each their own, but y’know everyone loves a villain, so don’t feel to alone. ;)
My only gripe with her being reformed is, this probably means we won’t see her much ever again aside from cameos, considering her whole role in the show was to be a bully, and obstacle for the CMC. But we’ll wait, and see as somebody rumored that she will appear again in S6.
I kinda liked Sombra too, despite most fans feeling he was lame/useless. He did enslave an entire race of ponies, (more then some villains accomplished) and I kinda liked how he was a more subtle & almost-silent & foreboding-force villain then the other hammy ones we’ve had in the show. His traps also implied he was quite clever, and genre-savvy.
Plus, he was so evil, he was the only character killed-off on-screen in the show.
Eh, I just feel like im the only person in the world that liked Diamond Tiara better before Crusaders of the Lost mark. I know, kinda petty right?
And I do like the Sombra and that didn’t get reformed.
Actually, back when the brony-fandom first started, a lot of bronies didn’t like the CMC either, (much like how they didn’t like SHining Armor & Cadance at first) some feeling they were to childish/cutesy, and such. (Though, they forget whom the target audience is, and I think it’s nice to have some “kid” characters, the kids can relate to) but they grew on ‘em over time.
I dunno, there are some gushing over reformed Glimmer, and upset that some fans are bashing her. So many are divided on it. Some are even getting really upset over the images making fun of her. (Like that one where Celestia gives her a li’l paper message spoofing that old “I don’t like thing!” comic.)
Tiara’s wasn’t predictable, (I honestly wasn’t ever expecting them to give her much focus, or reform her) so I think that’s also why I enjoyed her’s more.
Admittedly though, it is getting a bit overdone redeeming antagonists, so I hope they don’t do it to often now. Still there are many villains not reformed, or can’t be reformed like Tirek & Sombra. Even a few minor-antagonist ponies like Suri Polimare, & Upper-crust never apologized for their behavior, or anything. So at least they’re showing not everyone can pull a heel-face-turn.
I thought Starlight’s wasn’t hurried. Plus, all the redemptions on the show seem predictable (to my at least). And I think the majority of the site agree that her redemption was shit.
I thought she had plenty of character in the episodes she had before that one. And even though she did get development, I didn’t think it was good development. But I do agree with ya that it is kinda ridiculous that a school bully is worse then a warlord and Tirek.
And I didn’t really are if they got their marks or not. It was boring to watch them try and get them, it was boring watching them get them.
If you cant tell by now, im a odd person XD. I liked a character better when she DIDN’T have a episode to herself, and the group that almost everyone loves, I don’t like.
I’m just saying a few lapses into herself, could make her interesting, but not have her go back to downright being a bully, just having a temper occasionally.
I don’t know, I’m just glad she got some character-development, and honestly the whole “blank-flanks” thing was getting old, and just making everybody hate her more, and more, and such. (Some tried to claim she was a “worse” villain then Tirek & King Dombra just for making fun of Scootaloo’s inability to fly, which is a bit overkill to me, considering the things those guys did) so it was kinda nice to see a more sympathetic side to her. There’s not really much else they could do with her being a “bully” really, that no other villain/antagonist has already done.
Plus, I kinda like the irony that the CMC get their cutie-marks after helping their own worst enemy. (Something hardly anyone would be willing to do.) Honestly, the only thing I didn’t like about the episode was the “Vote for Pip” song kinda carried on a bit to long. (But it had a few funny moments.)
Frankly, I felt Starlight Glimmer’s heel-face-turn was much more hurried/predictable, and worse then Tiara’s, but I still enjoyed the S5 finale regardless.
Well im gonna disagree, because I would hate that if they done it.
And her still being mean would seem like a dumb thing since the show would probably never have her go back to her mean side. And if she did, it would cease to exist after a while.
I just hate the episode and what it done to Diamond
I’d like to see them as I said make Tiara “nicer/reformed,” but still “flawed,” as I said, and have occasional “mean-outbursts,” and still be learning to be nicer. While her Mother influenced some of her nastiness, I don’t think that means she alone is to blame for Tiara’s behavior, and Tiara is still a li’l guilty too, and still in charge of her own actions. The CMC just simply showed her there are other options.
Well, to each their own. I still liked the episode, frankly it’s my fav’ of Season 5 probably. (Yes, even more then the fan-servicey “Slice of Life.”)
I kinda always wanted Tiara to be somewhat redeemed, or show a different side to herself, but still be flawed/occasionally mean. Considering bullies in other shows (like say “Rugrats”) have occasionally shows positive personality traits, and being a kid, I think Tiara needs a hug, and I’m glad the episode basically gave her one.
I also loved Tiara’s sad song, which was very adorable, and probably my favorite part of the episode. I don’t know why, but sad ponies are very adorable to me.
Again, I never really saw their development. All I saw were a bunch of little brats. Since I found them annoying form the first few times, I might be a bit biased, but like people say, to a lot of people, a first impression is what makes or breaks something. To me, it was a bad one. I don’t really hate any character on the show except for Discord, but Im not to fond of the cmc.
Well I thought that that episode was one of the worst episodes MLP has ever done. I know that’s kinda ridicules when compared to stuff like Mare-do-well, Princess Spike, MMC etc., but still. And its not for them redeeming DT, but for other reasons (Silvers redemption seemed half-assed, plot was all over the place, too many songs, the cmc’s cutie marks are butt ugly, seemed stupid to me to have a episode about it being ok to not have a cutie mark, then ruin it by having them get theirs, Spoiled seem like a excuse to pin the blame for all the shit DT done on her.)
and that’s what im afrid of: that she will be a 100% goody goody. Im fine with these types of characters,, I just done like that they might turn DT into one. In fact, even if they do have her occasionally go back into bitch mode, no doubt they will get rid of that until she’s away from it. In fact, I actually didn’t want her to have a redemption episode, I wanted her to still be a bitch through out the show.
Im not trying to insult your opinion on it or anything, im just saying that I thought the episode was shit, and that DT was WAY better before that episode.
Well, their character-development is a bit subtle, but if you look back at Season 4, there were pretty much no episodes focusing on them trying to get their cutie-marks, and cutie-marks were only mentioned once when Tiara called them “Blank-flanks” in “Flight to the Finish.” They even seemed less bothered by her, so it shows they learned to tolerate/ignore her bullying more. Also, considering they were willing to help their own bully, (not something many kids would do) that shows how they’ve matured a bit. They also have been acting less childish, and more competent, as well.
So they actually have grown up a bit, I feel.
Sense you don’t like them, (which is fine, you’re opinion) you apparently don’t pay attention to them, or their development.

I will say I kinda understand liking her “mean” side, (everyone loves a “villain”) and it would be interesting if sometimes it would come out accidently, and she’d still gradually learning to be nicer, and such. Could make her more interesting as “reformed, but not perfect.” That way she doesn’t come off as another Sunset Shimmer.
eh, im going to disagree on you with the cmc being more adult. they still are very annoying and stupid in my opinion.
And its a shame that the only DT centred episode had to suck. (In my opinion.)
I am one of those strange people that LIKED her when she was a mean bully.
of course, no disrespect to you for liking her being redeemed, or hoping she gets more time with the cmc. That is your opinion and all.
I didn’t expect it, because overall her role was to be a bully, and they never had many signs she’d eventually be redeemed. (Aside from being a li’l nicer to the CMC in “Twilight Time,” brown-nosing aside.) Sunset Glimmer’s was more predictable to me, sense at that point every villainous female pony in the show seems to get redeemed somehow. (Which admittedly, is starting to get overdone.)
Still, I liked Diamond Tiara’s redemption better, sense it took longer, and looking at her past failures kinda felt like it had more build-up to it. The others got redeemed way to quickly I felt.
I don’t know, I kinda like the CMC, and they seem a bit more grown-up/intelligent, & competent now then they used to be. So I like their character-development. “Raiders of the Lost Cutie-Marks” also show how much they’ve grown, as they were willing to help their own worst enemy, which is something they would never do back in Season 1. So in a way the ep’ was not just a CMC episode, but also the closest thing to a “Diamond Tiara” episode we’ve gotten so far. (And probably ever will get.)

And im really not to happy about that their side. I thought it was fun when she was all “LOL blank-flanks”. Then again, it might have something to do with me not being the biggest fan of cmc episodes. Or the cmc themselves (I don’t hate most of their episodes, I just find them kinda boring. As for the cmc themselves, I find them to be really annoying some times.)

No offense to you or anyone else that liked her being redeemed, I just like her better before that.
I normally don’t like those kind of characters, (as they’re quite cliche’, then again so are some other things in the show) but Tiara oddly kinda struck a cord with me for some reason.
I kinda hope Tiara’s reformation doesn’t mean we’ll never see her again (aside from brief cameos) as I’d like to see it developed more, and her newfound friendship with the CMC explored/developed more too.
Maybe have her snap into her old bitchyness on occasion, but still be a better/good pony.
I liked her when she was a li’l bitch. What can I say, I have a thing for rich girls and bitchy girls.
Y’know, I kinda liked her too, even before she became nicer. I always felt she had some potential, and still had some cute moments (look up “DIamondbetes”) in the show. Like how she liked her father, and such. (Despite being a li’l biotch.)
