That, my friend is what TV Tropes calls “Singing Voice Dissonance”. Basically, a lot of singers sound completely different between their speaking and singing voices.

It isn’t a ‘musical’ episode in the sense like Magical Mystery Cure or Crusaders of the Lost Mark. There are three songs, four if you count reprises, each sung like here, when you’d expect someone to sing so it really isn’t a musical by the standard definition. Still, that is quite a few songs.
