Yes, but the ones the media, ESPEICALLY progressive sites really care about are invariably the white middle class ones, usually Cis. You have to have a presentable face to be a professional victim to or few people will care

Be careful, if you threaten a woman that way it becomes serious fucking business, especially if shes white and middle class
I need to sign up for Twitter!
I threatened John Romita JR not the other day that I’d take away all his pencils if he didn’t make me a sandwich.
Never heard of it.
Yeah. I think Neal was just having a sense of humor about it, and just taking it in stride. Much like how SIbsy remarked that “I’m a corporate sell-out! Weee!”
At least, the staff has a sense of humor about the trolls.
Y’know, a lot of writers for the show tend to catch flack for at least one episode they write. I remember once somebody said all of Meghan McCarthy’s episodes felt like “toy commercials” just ‘cause she wrote the S2 finale, and S3 opener. (Where’s the toy tie-ins for “DragonShy,” and “Lesson Zero?”)
And let’s not forget the old “Thanks M.A. Larson” drama over MMC. (Which hilariously got turned around, and turned into a joke phrase. Even Larson was poking fun at himself with it.)
I agree with you about “Feeling Pinkie Keen”; I was just pointing out a common reaction to it when it first aired, leading a lot of fans to unjustly write off Dave Polsky as a horrible writer after his first episode.
And beats890 started his comment by pointing out that threats, trolling, and spam shouldn’t be posted in general, which I agree with, but then he went on to say that those posts don’t matter anyway and Neal Dusedau is just being an attention whore with the tweet posted above, and that I object to.
Remember what happened to the Steven Universe fanbase.
People can say what they want, but it’s still rather rude to “death threat” people. (Neal is just joking around, or poking fun at the trolls who do that.)
“Free speech” doesn’t mean you can just run into a crowded store, and shout “FIRE!” There’s still logic & reason to apply to “free speech.”
It’s the 1st amendment. He say whatever he wants!
Which they confirmed was NOT the case, even Lauren Faust already explained that one.
A lot of atheist fans took that episode the wrong way. Which is a shame, ‘cause it was a genuinely funny episode, with some good sight-gags. (And it was also one of the first episodes where Derpy started to become a recurring character.)

I think he meant people shouldn’t be threatening the people who give us pony in general. It’s kinda like biting the hand that feeds us.
And it’s not just “unpopular” writers, and such who catch flack. The other day, there was a guy bashing Lauren Faust going around here. And not in just a “trolling” way, he genuinely seemed to dislike her, and kept misunderstanding things she said in a negative way.
So don’t point out and mock threats and other trolling because it means you’re just an attention whore. Got it.
Well i was putting online threats by twitter as trolling and spam, and i agree that such actions even if they just words empty or not really shouldn’t be posted in general. Fandoms of anything will get these types of threats and controversy all the time and mostly are empty, and most the time it blows over time. This twitter post just felt like calling out for attention or to get that controversy attention rather than really feeling threaten due to the sarcastic tone with “A cool thing”.
I personally am meh towards all this and this writer, and i hope he doesn’t get hired back myself but whatever, all this felt overblown for common things that happen in hollywood or online and chatting about it, no matter how positive, is just adding fire to the flame.
“Feeling Pinkie Keen”, which supposedly promoted religion.
I dont remember what Dave Polsky did ,was that about “Over A Barrel” (the episode in Appeloosa with the buffalo revolt)?
And those who think are fools.
Threatening to kill someone is not criticism
The artist, must not only be willing to only accept praise but the criticism, opposition on opinions, and spam as well.
Are all negative critics justified? no there will be spam, trolling, and selfish postings and opinions but you have to have the good with the bad.
I guess it’s more of a tongue-in-cheek take on the drama.
I liked the episode too, it wasn’t the best ep’ of the season, but still amusing. Plus, it’s always fun to see episodes where Twilight gets flustered, or tries to “understand/science” everything.
Plus we got some things like “Flutterorange,” and “Pinkie McFly” out of the episode.

You should see how other fanbases treat the official content creators too, it’s really nothing new.
A guy called ProfessorMegaman tried to make a petition to have Ian Flynn fired as main writer for the Megaman comic series by Archie Comics. (Why? Because he made original stories in between the game adaptions, and added a new character. How dare he add more to the stories then “Megaman blows up random robot master!” Ironically, this guy doesn’t mind all the liberties the old ’90s Ruby Spears Megaman cartoon made to the series.)
Said petition only had one signature on it hilariously.
Sometimes the “outspoken” immature fans or the ones who give “death threats” are just a very small amount of fans. Still, they should be somewhat better behaved.
