Makes sense, friendship is a form of love, but Chrysalis would lose for the same reason she lost against Shining Armor and Cadence, too much of a good thing. Humans are 2/3 water and can only go for three days without water, but we can drown in it; a boat floats in water, but can also sink in it; Changelings gain power from love, but too much at once can cause a magical feedback that’ll send the bug-ponies flying!

I think I should have said “pointless”. It served no actual point in the long run other than “FOR THE TRAILER!” The only point the fight made was that afterwards, despite beating their asses like… five seconds ago, they still got defeated.

It would have been worst had they left the ponies get hurt, that would have ruined her life forever. Nobody humiliated her other than herself.

The problem with that is no one can agree on which things they did were dickish and which weren’t. Even with MDW there’s a lot of disagreement over what the problem was. Going back and saying that they were wrong in any particular episode would anger just as many people as it would please.

Meh. The Mare-Do-Well incident was a misunderstanding. They helped Rainbow Dash, even saved her from humilliation, she didn’t get it until later. People should get over it, like Rainbow Dash did.
 
And the desert incident wasn’t mean to be taken seriously. This show is supposed to be funny, too.

Interesting idea but there is no foundation for it. There is no wedge between their friendships that could conceivably cause the EoH to fail. Whatever conflicts they have are resolved and all remain good friends at the end of each episode. Rarity and Pinkie in the desert was a joke.

But in-universe some of the dickish things are never called out and that’s the problem. It causing some unfortunate implications. So a good thing would be for them to get back and make it up. And I think it will be the case in Trixie’s return (some people had problems with how she was treated despite being a simple…whethever the hell was she doing for a living).

We don’t want their relationship to be perfect. Be certain dickish things they did to each other in season 2 should be adressed. Especially since the writers know about the shitstorm caused by MDW episode. Of course they could just ignore it but you know… it would be nice and propably heartwarming.

Also the Elements power is more on the ponies personalty themselves(in a way),this wouldn’t diminish the powers of them each alone, but would keep them from working together, or that’s how it seems to me.

Well, I was thinking this would be a better justification to why Cadance and Shining Armor are the ones to defeat Chrysalis instead of just having them get captured and render the fight scene worthless.
 
Though if you want to have them powered back up, either a well-deserved apology scene, or they spend the third season building up their friendship again.
