The snake phase for puppet Ganon is a pain because of how fast he moves, which makes hitting the tail nearly impossible.

I actually got the SNES version downloaded on my New 2DS XL a couple weeks ago even though I already have the GBA version (which I beat a few years ago).

Hitting its head causes it to freeze in place, which is supposed to make it easier to hit the tail, but its fast movement makes that very hard as well.

As I’ve learned with Shadow Dragon, just because it started some great things doesn’t mean it’s good itself.

Tbh, while I do think it’s very good, I feel that, like Ocarina of Time, later games built on the conventions it started and did them better for the most part.

Well, how do you feel about later 3D games doing the conventions Ocarina of Time set for 3D games in the series better than Ocarina of Time did?

Honestly my main problem with A Link to the Past is the absurd damage output of some enemies. A fucking crab that you usually first encounter when you have maybe 6 or 7 Heart Containers at the most should not do 2 fucking hearts of damage to you.

by not doing a no extra hearts run You cheated not only the game, but yourself. You didn’t grow. You didn’t improve. You took a shortcut and gained nothing. You experienced a hollow victory. Nothing was risked and nothing was gained. It’s sad that you don’t know the difference.

I think later games did things differently.  
As for Link to the Past, I find it to be more challenging and reward thinking and puzzle solving. And the dungeons in OoT are pretty linear and weaker as a result. Also I find the combat inferior because a lot of encounters boil down to hold shield, wait for opening, attack. And the perspective is off, in my opinion.

Than there’s this asshole who thinks using memes is a great substitute for having a point. Doesn’t help that the source had the guy talking about beating a very unforgiving boss without altering the game rather than doing a challenge.

Actually you get the blue tunic in the ice palace which you can do pretty early. You get the red tunic in Ganon’s palace. Also, it’s easier to avoid getting hit than in the 3D games because you have a larger perspective to watch enemy movement and attacks, so the damage some enemies do can be forgiven IMO.

So one of my friends wants to try Final Fantasy VI again and actually beat it for once but he’s not gonna play the MLP hack surprisingly enough. He downloaded the SNES original but I just want everybody’s opinion on this, which version of Final Fantasy VI is the best to start with? He isn’t interested in spending money so the iOS/Android/Steam versions are out of the question. Its pure emulation. That just leaves us with the SNES version and the GBA port.

Honestly, I just overall enjoyed A Link Between Worlds more than A Link to the Past, even if Worlds is significantly easier.

That’s my issue with most of the modern Zelda’s, they’re too easy. The dungeons are usually linear and the games hold your hand for the most part, I still love them though. I just want the series to go back to the dungeon design of LttP, non-linear and you can finish them fast if you know what you’re doing.
