They’re not particularly complicated, if that’s what you’re asking, and they do have some form of “easy” mode if the standard difficulty still winds up to be too much for you (not that I’d suspect it would be).

Aaaaand Rapunzel is sick now. Time to focus on Hatsune Miku.

The backstory was always vague. There’s plenty of nuance to fit almost whatever you want in the blanks.
 
I wasn’t impressed with either of the MC VAs, but then again, I always had the option to make them disappear entirely.

Nora’s VA voiced Jack in Mas Effect who was one of the most likable and nuanced characters, but the dumbasses managed to get a ME1 Mark meer level performance out of her, plus the character they gave her was so much more bland than Nate’s, and only made worse by never giving us a fucking pay off to all the possibilities, even if we were stuck as Nora they could have still done some cool things, but nope, the generic BS story that was clearly written around Nate had to ruin all of that,

I’ve been playing Maplestory Europe (different than the Sea version) and it’s fun.
 
But as always, the programming is shit and the first few hours would be you trying to figure out how to to actually play the game without it crashing.

Nate wasn’t any better. Both choices are generic, and the only difference is between a ex-military that has no in-game combat bonuses from it guy, and a female lawyer. Woopie de do.

Nate has a fun loving nature that permeates his dialog, from his nerdy love of comics to his enthusiasm and eventually growing to really get behind the Silver Shroud gimmick, Nora has be unsure and bland, and even without any points invested in combat skills the Sole Survivor is still an able fighter, but this sin’t about gameplay, it’s about bad story telling that comes from the obsession with writing every RPG like the MC is always going to be a white dude, which yields generic boring characters, Nora could have been great, have her be resentful of her lot in life, have her complain that she didn’t get invited to speak at the veterans hall dispite being the highest ranking member of it, have her point out when someone talks about how good things were that she doesn’t think they realize how bad things could be pre war, so much fucking potential and all of it wasted because Nate was given the focus,

After two hours rest, it’s back to Maplestory.

It’s almost like because they are voiced they can have completely different emotions conveyed with the same dialog based on the actor’s inflection,

Uh, I guess I just don’t read the female version as shy or unsure. Honestly, it may be the fault of the actors for voicing the character they want instead of the company, who hasn’t given an in-game voice for the playable character before in one of these types of games.

Both actors are accomplished, it’s the director’s fault and the writers, she has a less assertive tone, and instead of doing a voice that slwoly warms up to being badass like Nate for her Shroud dialog she uses a crappy sounding attempt at sounding male, despite having played fucking jack and thus being very capable of being intimidating, again it’s because they wrote everything for Nate,

Than why didn’t they have the female version act the same as the male one? If it’s made for him. as you claim, than why didn’t she go through the same process as him?

You wanted Nora to be a feminist deconstruction of a time period that’s long since died out. That’s fine, yet another problem with this RPG’s storytelling.
 
Also, RPGs writing around a white dude? You mean how nearly every MC is written to be a blank slate with almost no personalty traits. You equate that to being a white guy?
