The downfall of TGWTG or Channel Awesome

Does anyone here think that TGWTG will soon become akin to the Escapist?
 
I ask because both sites have hemorrhaged talent while still keeping the main draw around. Granted, there are differences due to how both sites were originally conceived, but as someone who follows both, I do think it’s worthwhile to compare and contrast their fates. While the Escapist became Zero Punctuation and the Escapist back when they brought Yahtzee on board only to become just that, TGWTG began as just that and things it seems have come full circle. Both sites have been brought down by astounding corporate hubris and tone-deafness, and while the Escapist clings by a thread to life, TGWTG is buoyed by the namesake for the time being.
 
Though I think the Escapist is going to die first, I’m not quite sure how much life TGWTG has left in it. Not Doug and Rob Walker’s schtick mind you, as they can take that anywhere and be fine, but the site itself.

It is, indeed. Even if Doug wanted to abandon ship and strike it on his own, there’s a good chance he’ll have to create an entirely new show if Michaud doesn’t give him the rights to NC.

Plus He seems to get along fine with Doug and Rob, so they wouldn’t likely leave anyway, i mena Hell even Brad seems OK with staying on and he’s friends with many of those who left,

This has just sparked that I haven’t been on Channel Awesome in AGES. It’s been quite a while since I’ve watched NC and when I have it was on YouTube.
 
I only just now heard of Linkara, SF Debris and MikeJ leaving and I actually follow the first two!
 
And there’s apparently skeletons in the closet that are due to be exposed soon, so I’m thinking CA doesn’t have a very good future in store if they don’t seriously change.

One of the things that pisses me off the most is learning that a guy got fired for doing journalism, and exposing 8chan’s child porn issues which apparent;y set off the gamer gate community,

Dan Olson? Yeah, I even saw some people (including on this site) claim, with no proof, that Olson had planted the child porn there himself to discredit Gamergate.

I honestly appreciated that Linkara stayed neutral in that matter. Probably because he had friends on both sides of that (Todd in the Shadows was anti-GG, while Iron Liz was pro-GG).

Like, remember that incident when Todd claimed that Justin (JewWario) wouldn’t have supported GG because he was mad at GG people using the Wario hat tributes in their avatars?
 
It wouldn’t surprise me if Linkara was the one who got him to apologize for that, but had it done privately so as not to make a scene. Linkara gets VERY pissed when people insult Justin, and whether Justin would’ve supported it or not, we can’t really know since he’s dead, and YOU JUST DON’T CLAIM TO SPEAK FOR A DEAD PERSON NO MATTER HOW WELL YOU KNEW THEM.

Wasn’t it the fact the CP on the GG thread was deleted just as fast as it was posted that kind of seemed fishy?  
in fact Sarah Buttz literally Tweeted out, that’s what he did. (The actual tweet, so no claiming fake due to source)  
And what he did is illegal in Canada, so he’s lucky he wasn’t thrown in jail.
 
It doesn’t help Olson’s case when like many he erased people who spoke in favor of GG that weren’t white or male, claiming them as sockpuppets in a vid 3 years ago. So all-in-all being fired doesn’t seem too bad.
 
I hate to bring this up here, since there’s an actual thread for it, but it was brought up so and the person in question is linked to TGWTG in some way, this shouldn’t be a problem.

That’s not Sarah Nyberg’s actual account. I would know because I already had her blocked ages ago, and this account wasn’t already blocked.
 
And even with that, that’s CLEARLY a parody account. And the fact that you were so ready to believe a parody account was legit is… not good.

So that’s not Sarah, I should have guessed looking at they actually use the word “Social Just warriors”  
but there still the honeypot scheme Dan was involved in.
 
The fact Laurelai Baily has the domain registered that was used, and it was Dan that reported on it blaming it on another group shows his journalistic integrity and ethical standing were now in serious question with his “The mods are always asleep” hit piece on the movement.
 
Dan also had a means to download those pictures so by his own reasoning, Olson has violated laws against child pornography by downloading this content for the purpose of distributing it through his piece.

Then again, knowing people like Dan. The ends are the justification for whatever they do. We’ve seen this with not only TGWTG members as fore mentioned.
 
This is the DOWNFALL of- thread, although, Olson himself wasn’t really in the spotlight and tried to used dubious method as a means to, which promptly backfired.

I feel Gamer Gate had ground to stand on, but was tainted by those trying to “help” the cause. In other words, in what could have been a strong argument for ethics in gaming journalism got overshadowed by the worst of 4Chan and those of such communities. That the had actions of the a few and a lack of organization perhaps led to opponents more easily arguing harassment, abuse, and misogyny.
 
Sighs, personally I am Pro-Gamer Gate, but see where things went wrong and kind of fell apart.
