Technician: We turn the system off to wash it weekly. Does it count?

Weiss: And inspections on the metal itself?

Technician: Yearly, unless of course we notice something obvious during a washing.

OOC: Would be better to apply it when the pipe is supposed to be inactive anyways.

Weiss: Hmmm… I’d need some details to be sure but with some help we might be able to set a sample up for it depending on how long the down time will be.

Max: They seem fine with leaving it off for as long as you need so it shouldn’t be a problem.

OOC: And it would actually be a normal thing to do for the upgrades?

OOC: As they pointed out long downtime are not a problems. If it was to surprisingly break in a critical way for example it would be normal to turn it off even for a few days.

OOC: Ok. I’m sure I’ve made the reception girl say below the building but anyway that shouldn’t be so disrupting as far as know. Putting dust in the structure of a large pipe should the same no matter where this pipe is.
