A lot of early eps coloured perceptions considerably. (Like how Dragonshy more or less invented the idea of the Manes as Celestia’s troubleshooters, which is otherwise restricted to Elements-on-deck two-parters.)

Many people say Rarity constantly twists the stereotypes regarding her vain fashionista personality even though Twilight avoids many of the nerd conventions all the same: she’s not just academic but learns quickly about everything social interactions and strategy, is a leader rather than a follower, rather assertive and even ocasionally aggressive at times, not to mention she dislikes feeling useless and secluded and wouldn’t like to be trapped on a tight space.

There’s this one member of the fandom who’s been really annoying me lately. I’m not going to name names because I don’t want anyone to go after him, but most of his comment activity over the past several years has been complaining about G5, complaining about the portrayal of dragons in later seasons of FIM, and picking fights with other users on those topics, even going as far as to insult their opinions and then play the victim card when he gets called out on it. I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t been banned yet.

There’s been a number of people who have been complaining about g5 stuff in very specific ways. An artist I like sort of became unhealthily obsessed with Sprout to the point where they removed their artwork from the site because people were saying mean things about him, and that g5 wasn’t worth it anymore cause they stopped using him.

I have a real love for those two royal guards Thunder and Zoom, but I know the show isn’t about them, I’m lucky if they show up at all.

They’re not wrong. Never seen Sprout since forever. Maybe they should ask one of us here on how to like things in this franchise without caring too much on anything else than what they like. Not the pep talker I would recommend but that they need.

It doesn’t suprise me that Helluva make pony references; a good portion of their fandom seem to be bronies or ex-bronies. Never watched it personally.

It’s funny to me that this fandom has created its own “cursed artifacts”.

You have nothing to worry about. This fandom was built on idolizing secondary and background characters.

G4 has been over for years now. The end of G5 is probably upon us (though we don’t know for sure, but they might as well since Hasbro fucked up from the start). Something tells me the whole franchise is about to go on an indefinite hiatus. I feel like the fandom is slowly dying and on life support. It won’t vanish completely but don’t think it’ll ever make a comeback or anything. I’m not sure if I’ll ever move on.

I’m convinced G4 was never great and everyone is just blinded by nostalgia.
