Pony Venting Thread

I never got the controversy over the Mane Five fixing up the old Canterlogic factory. It wasn’t being used for anything and they obviously would of gotten permission from Phyllis since at no point in the episode does Sprout say anything about wither or not they should be there(he even said he liked the makeover, before bragging that the building was technically still his, but that’s just Sprout being Sprout). It just seems like people are making a mountain out of a mole hill with that.

Especially people who are almost deliberately looking for something to say that’s negative.
I remember the same person making a ridiculous argument about MYM chapter 1. Complete with some stupid ass clickbait thumbnail.

The premise of his gripe was that in contrast to Hitch in ANG who willingly had a new view on pegasi and unicorns, Posey spent the whole episode being selfish and spoiled about magic and her lack of it, yet at the end of it all, she received a power of her own. That whining and complaining during the whole episode only stopped when she got power of her own, and so supposedly this teaches that being selfish and entitled will reward you. She became a better pony at the end, but not through change and improvement, but only by receiving what she was whining about all along until she got it, which she shouldn’t have gotten and should have instead felt thankful for what she already had.

Which… honestly isn’t the correct thing to draw here.
I said instead that she was appreciative of Sunny saving her from the void, had an attitude change with that, and then bonus, earth pony magic.

Did he ever consider that? Or is he compelled to find a problem in everything?

I also believe that since the Mane 5 thought the building was abandoned, they would use it and weren’t aware at all that it still had ownership since Phyllis or Sprout said anything prior. It makes them look less like crooks and more just clueless, which realistically happens to all of us. That and Sprout seems okay with it and didn’t go to her mom to complain about it so in the case of that review, he was treating that like it was the worst thing ever when really it wasn’t, felt more like an excuse to get angry and yell cause that’s what constitutes reviewing these days.

people take this episode much more seriously than they should, it would have been better if we knew if phyllis approved, but people act as if the mane five had decided to demolish the factory and set the land on fire

There are those who do that, exaggerate the main character’s actions and paint them as far worse than what it looks. Not just the case for G5, but for any piece of media.

They’ve posted screenshots before. Just with TYT it turned into that every possible frame sorta thing and that’s when people got annoyed.
They posted a submission the other day bemoaning their ban and declaring they’re leaving, but that got deleted.
