Izzy only ever mentions Moonbows twice. First time in The Traditional Unicorn Sleep-Over

Yeah, I had a pretty good feeling that the “comes from a long line of Moonbows” line was a misremembering of something. Even before the transcript checking, it looked to me like the kind of line the mind would splice together from two separate quotes. It’s happened to me before. More important to me though is verification on this whole “unicorn family name thing”, other evidence besides what we apparently get with Izzy. Does that ever happen in the series, where they explicitly state or strongly imply that family names are especially important in unicorn culture?

I think this is just more Izzy being Izzy then any heavy unicorn lore/tradition tbh

This series has never really been clear on whether not they actually have last names.
I used to get the idea they just had two word first names

I feel the same way, though I will reconsider my stance if I see proof. In regards to Misty’s last name, I have a feeling she’ll keep the last name regardless of her relation to Alphabittle, since it’s officially used on the merchandise. Funny, considering it’s literally just something she came up with on a whim. XD

Speaking of last names, there is something shocking I recently discovered about Opaline’s last name. Her first name is a word related to multicolored light, with opaline being another word for opalescent, meaning “reflecting an iridescent light”. Her last name, Arcana, means “secrets or mysteries”. Does her name mean…“bringing secrets to light”? It’s already been pointed out in the past that the way she was jealous of the star in TYT’s Under the Mistytoe could have something to do with this…

…What about her name though? :)

plus she specifically asks for mistys last name, and all the other ponies regard that question as normal for unicorns

yeah we dont have explicit stuff of other uni families last names, but considering how obsessed with uni tradition izzy is, its frankly kinda obv that its what up with unicorns. plus its a great worldbuilding thing theyre alluding to

I saw it as a great idea but with a half baked execution because I was actually ecstatic over the idea of a music festival named after Woodstock, which is the number one event I would definitely attend if I had a time machine but it was clear that the script was a first draft that needed some revising. With that said, I still prefer it over the Chapter 2 special

I do find it funny that Bridlewoodstock – the only part of Chapter 4 they really advertised, and pushed using TYT and the comics as well – is the least talked about portion of the chapter lol

Reminds me of the Flash movie, albeit a couple of differences. Lots of people gave it high praise and reception when it was first test screened, but very later on it’s being shitted on by the general audience when it was made for public viewing. (for many reasons)

It’s a good thing the rest of the chapter was a lot more enjoyable on my second rewatch

I feel the same way for Winter Wishday. Absolutely no one talks about it at least from my observation. Even fan art for it is scarce.

Wishday’s the first time we see the G5 unicorns do some pretty advanced magic (albeit accidentally) that isn’t just levitation.

Again you are ignoring what I’m saying. Sunny isn’t relevant here bc shes an earth pony, and twilights era was many many generations ago.
Yea sure you can interpret izzys word how u wish in your own hc, but you can’t just state it as fact lol

People, it’s just names, how long do we have to argue, lmao. Call me a hypocrite for the nerdy level of research I went through many hours ago, but that was just because I honestly wanted to affirm something and I moved on once I got my clarification (and made a speculation for fun). I can’t be the only one here who thinks this has gone on long enough.

Misty’s hair looks nice with the swirls. Reminds me of TYT with the mouths

Although that image could use a sizing down, holy heck, that’s probably the best comic cover I’ve seen yet. Art not final? Like they couldn’t release that as it is. :P

It’s like TYT, but with more effort put into the designs.
