Sooooooooo that prayer that Speaker Mike Johnson recited on the House floor that he attributed to Thomas Jefferson? Not only did Jefferson neither writer nor recite it, but it was published verbatim (and misattributed there to Jefferson) in 1970 in The Cross and the Flag, an “anti-communist” publication run by infamous white nationalist Gerald L. K. Smith. It was also featured in a 1975 issue of an antisemitic newsletter published by the “Anti-Communist Confederation of Polish Freedom Fighters in U.S.A.”

Yeah no literal Neo-Nazis and ChristNats are in charge.

Eh, as nutty as they both are, neither one is super eager to press the Big Red Button. Even they know the first party to do that is picking a fight with the whole world.

Plus, there’s no need to, when they can just glass the place with conventional firepower.

Seth Cotlar, whom I linked to here, did more digging on “Jefferson’s prayer.” The oldest published example of it he could find that attributed it to Thomas Jefferson was from 1953 in a Christian Identity newsletter.

For those not in the know, Christian Identity is an explicitly white supremacist and antisemitic strain of Evangelical Christianity, descended from an equally antisemitic tendency known as British Israelism (the belief that the British are the ‘Lost Tribe of Israel’ and God’s true Chosen People).

As one of their last acts, the Biden administration finally tried to reenact net neutrality laws. An appellate court struck it down.

Okay so this blindsided me. It was just so plausible that “Adrian Dittman” was an Elon Musk sockpuppet that I just rolled with it. But a pair of investigative journalists decided to dig deeper. Their findings were published by the Spectator. Turns out there really is an Adrian Dittmann, and that is his real name. He’s a German Elon Musk fanatic living in Fiji.

My bet, since apparently this guy met Elon in person years ago, is that Elon asked or pays him to use his account/persona as his alt.

Also “Dittman” recently played Fortnite with some US streamer; if he really is in Fiji, the lag would likely have been pretty noticeable (if they’d even be allowed to play together at all).
