This time around if it takes 3 days then the certification of the 2024 results are delayed. And if that gets delayed for 14 days then Trump’s inauguration gets delayed.

Judge Merchan has come out and declared that Trump’s sentencing will happen on the 10th.

Except in order to keep people from making the mistake of thinking actions have consequences, he was quick to remind people that this is the American Justice System by indicating that Trump’s sentence will likely be an “Unconditional Discharge”. Literally a ‘you did the crime, but there’s no penalty’ ruling.

No fines, no jail, no house arrest, not even a slap on the wrist. Just a thumbs up and a pat on the back alongside a “sorry for inconveniencing you”.

I feel like the past few years have shown how much of a pile of shit that quote really is considering now atter what Trump does, everyone just decides to treat him with the kiddie gloves and let’s him get away with no sort of consequences other then “my fee fees got hurt :c”

I thought this breaking news was important enough to report sooner rather than later, but nobody had responded yet and simply doing a quiet edit means people probably would miss it when someone new did post. So the compromise is a “heads up, I know I’m doing this”.

Well what do you know, another prosecutor supposedly leading the good fight turning out to be just as spineless as Trump is. If that’s his end goal, why did he even bother to sentence Trump in the first place? No love or respect.

I knew something like this would happen.

What should happen is that they stay down the whole 30 days as per the law.

What’s likely to happen is that Trump will piss and shit his diapers until the feds raise them on Inauguration Day.

If there was any sense they’d wait until 12:01 after Trump is sworn in before bending the knee to the new President and raise the flags then. But based off previous patterns they’ll likely continue to grant Trump presidential powers before he’s even president, so they’ll go up before he even makes it to the Capitol.

The flag, at least in my state, is at half-staff so often that the gesture has become meaningless. The flag should only be lowered to honor the deaths of very important individuals or for major tragedies.

The death of a former President, especially a decent president like Jimmy Carter, is certainly worth putting the flag at half-staff. Some random soldier who died decades ago or a city alderman? Not so much.

So, how will things likely end in Gaza at this point?
