It’s interesting that people suffering from such a serious condition were removed from medical indexes like this in the West. They might not be mentally ill as in people hallucinating and hearing voices but gender dysphoria and its treatment is no joke, often leading to serious medical and social complications.

We try to treat and prevent Body integrity dysphoria for instance but gender dysphoria is no longer considered a medical condition at all and the people suffering from it are allowed to undergo irreversible procedures with alarmingly little oversight and medical evidence it actually makes their lives better.

Because this is not a mental illness but a neurodivergence (like the autism spectrum): the former is a condition that can be corrected, the latter is an integral part of an individual’s identity (and the progress is recognizing that treating the latter the same way you do the former is complete and utter quackery).

was apparently a Russian operative
This conclusion is not backed by published facts. He was associated with a group that in turn was associated with Russia. From Wikipedia:
In January 2016, Cintula appeared in an event organised by a small far-right pro-Russian paramilitary group called Slovenskí Branci (Slovak Recruits). The group had links with the Russian motorcycle club Night Wolves, and according to Vsquare, the group received training from former Russian Spetsnaz members. At the time, Cintula wrote posts praising Slovenski Branci and its anti-immigration stance. He wrote that he was attracted to the group because of its “selfless zeal” and “the ability to act without the order of the state”. The group disbanded in October 2022.
From tweet quoted in the article:
Looks like Slovak PM Robert Fico’s reported assailant, writer Juraj Cintula, was associated with pro-Russian paramilitary group Slovenskí Branci (SB). Their leader was even trained by Russian ex-Spetsnaz soldiers.
What’s weird though is that he later co-founded a “Movement Against Violence”, supported a social liberal presidential candidate, and condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He joined protests against Fico’s “controversial” reforms (media control and sabotaging anti-corruption laws/offices).

For reference, it was uncovered a couple days ago that Alito flew the American flag in his yard upside down right after Jan 6 and ahead of Biden’s inauguration. Alito tried to head off accusations by throwing his wife under the bus. Not that he flew the flag in honor of the Capitol Police who died during Jan 6, no according to him it was because his wife was upset some neighbors didn’t like Trump. Which, even if true, really doesn’t dispel the notion that Alito joined his fellow MAGAts do declare “national distress” that Dear Leader was losing office.
And the actions of Uncle Clarence Thomas, traitor, has been widely publicized for going on over a year now.
Biden is not a good candidate but at least if he wins reelection there will still be a democracy after. Every day the GQP screams at us that if Trump wins, we won’t.

How lucky the Democrats are to have an opponent who is always worse than them. Why, without the Republicans, they might actually have to put in effort to be electable.

While talking about the republican party, I do wonder what would happen if Trump’s age catches up to him before the election and he dies of a heart attack or the like.

Right now, the party would choose a new candidate at the convention. After, things get tricky. Trump would probably still be on the printed ballots, which means the electoral college his corpse won would have to choose someone to put their points to. His VP candidate would be the obvious choice, but if the electoral college don’t like them(maybe they were a moderate compromise), you could get a split vote. Dead Trump could win the election, but his apparent successor might not win enough points, forcing congress to choose the winner.

A part of me idly wonders what would happen if Trump died before the election. I’m torn on whether that would make things easier or harder for either party.
More importantly, what would Trump’s cult do? It is almost certain that his death would be blamed on the myriad boogeymen he warned them about.

Lauren Boebert was not with her son when he was in trial. She won’t even pony up cash for an attorney, making him have to represent himself because the moron forgot to request a public defender.
But she alongside other sitting Congresspeople has been attending Trump’s trials and trying to find raise for him.
The GQP is fucked without Trump. I don’t think they’ll disappear if he drops dead, but it’s clear they have no Plan B when the octogenarian who inhales Big Macs like he’s suffocating does go. The next few years will be rough for them.

I mean there’s a limit on what Democrats can do legislatively when half of Congress is being run by borderline traitors, but there is still stuff being done and it’s remarkably unfair to act as though they aren’t doing anything that benefits the American people or appeals to their voters.

Yeah that doesn’t work when we saw all of what Trump was able to get away with in his 1 term.
It also doesn’t work when we saw Congressional Democrats give Biden had a spectacular post-Midterms half-year despite losing the House but gaining a single buffer Senate seat (not even “gain control of the Senate”. They already had that, only gaining a “true majority” after).
It turns out that each branch of government holds a tremendous amount of power, even when considering Checks and Balances. And it also turns out that holding a minimum of 2 of the 3 branches of government gives your party an percentage of those Checks. Nobody is going to be upset if the Dems start playing hardball or loose and fast with the rules if it means good things happen. But there is a lot to blame if we have to keep acting surprised when the Reps continue to do the same to make bad things happen.
I still can’t get over how Mitch McConnell was able to use his position as Senate Majority Leader - a made up position with made up powers - to just invent a rule out of nowhere then break it later to steal anywhere from 1 to 3 SCOTUS seats, and the Democrats just let it happen. To quote Innuendo Studios: “Democrats took the high road, and Republican took the Supreme Court.”

Ok, so I can use that as a frame of reference here then. People on the autism spectrum (talking about high functioning ones here.) have to live with certain restrictions that come with the diagnosis, for instance they are not allowed to or have to meet very high standards to join the military, driving a car etc. Nobody really reacts strongly to this and accepts it readily, it makes sense because the condition they are suffering from limits them in certain ways.

Then there is gender dysphoria. It seems no limits or discussion on the topic is allowed. If someone questions whether a person suffering from this kind of neurodivergence should be doing something that may cause problems for themselves or others, discussion is immediately shut down. (Cases like this are often caused by male/female biological differences, a prominent one is that of Lia Thomas and her swimming career for instance.) Also, as with autism, it is worth noting the serious mental health and other neurodivergence issues often accompanying gender dysphoria, but are not necessarily caused by it.
Another side of this condition is that some people seem to recover from the diagnosis altogether. As Kids, They Thought They Were Trans. They No Longer Do. - NY Times This sometimes happens with autism in children as well, though they are not at risk of having irreversible surgeries or hormonal treatments. Much of the science and theories seems to be entirely subjective, based on how someone feels about it. Autism has very clear criteria for doctors to go by. The physical side of the treatment offered for gender dysphoria seems tenuous and even experimental at best - The evidence to support medicalised gender transitions in adolescents is worryingly weak - The Economist - meant to push someone towards gender transitioning instead of preventing it. I think it is time for governments to have a serious look at this field of medicine and its practices to see if it does more harm than good and regulate it accordingly.

People on the autism spectrum … are not allowed to … join the military, driving a car etc.
According to the U.S. Air Force Medical Standards Directory, Autism Spectrum Disorder is not disqualifying for military service unless the individual has a history of compromising military duty or training. And in the U.S. there are no legal restrictions that prevent an autistic person from obtaining a driver’s license.
Are the rest of your “facts” as made up?
After all these years, maybe admit your endless appeal to false authority is just a flawed attempt to rationalize your confirmation bias and prejudices. You expect others to see your circumlocution as logical arguments, but they never hold up to even the most minimal scrutiny, and seem to be nothing more than your flawed interpretation of what you’ve heard others say.
Some individuals engage in behaviors like you’ve shown on this site in an attempt to justify their hatred or bigotry as a way to diminish their own self-loathing or cognitive dissonance. Maybe stop trying to stop others from helping themselves, and focus on yourself.

PS: The term “high-functioning” with regard to Autism describes individuals on the Autism spectrum who have average or above-average intellectual abilities and relatively mild symptoms.
