Spoiler-ific!!
__Your Mother and Mine__
Interesting story, though not a whole lot of unexpected information. The biggest surprises to me were A) Garnet either confirms that Rose Quartz took out Pink Diamond, or is sticking to the story that she did. B) How easily Garnet told the off-colors she’d never met things that Steven had to learn from rubies. C) Apparently, Pearl never belonged to anyone or was abandoned by her master. Overall, not a bad episode.
The Big Show
…that’s nice, what’s happening elsewhere? I’m glad Greg is still doing stuff, I like the cool kids, I don’t hate Sadie and the songs weren’t awful. But compared to what else is going on and other stories we could be seeing, a story about how able Sadie is to yell at Barb for giving a crap about her just isn’t that interesting to me.
Remember that episode of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends about a group of background friends forming a band and Bloo reeeeaally wanting to be in it, and the whole thing kinda came off as an excuse to get someone’s song out there? This episode felt like that, only it traded comedy for being way less repetitive. Also, FHfIF didn’t have a more interesting plot being delayed for that song.
I’d take this over another ronaldo episode.
Pool Hopping
Really interesting concept and it was cool to see what Garnet would do without her Future Vision TM. Good interactions between her and non-cat-Steven (Garnet wants to keep something with one blue eye. it’s love and vanity!), and Vidalia was in the show again after a long time. And hey, kids love those Cat Stevens references!
Solid episode. It didn’t really advance much, but it was enjoyable enough to be…enjoyed, despite it.
Letters to Lars
Couldn’t they just use the lighthouse to alert the town, like put a colored lens or something on the light to warn them?
Peridot is doing improv.
Peridot. Is doing. Immmmprroooovvvvv. …sure.
Mayor…I mean, mister Dewey’s new job might not be glamorous, but it seems to be enough for him and it fills two holes in the town.
Not bad.
Overall. Not a great use of the show’s time, especially since I haven’t heard if there’s another confirmed season after this, but still okay. Less frustrating than the last bomb by far.
