Understandable. Blame The Pokémon Company for their imaginary phobia of losing money if a new game isn’t out by the time the current anime season has ended. Still, good to hear that you’re having fun and if you’d like to trade sometime just let me know.

I like how you get the Regi trio in the Hoenn games, even getting the caves to open from Sealed Chamber. That, and I like the use of braille.

I’m so glad that when I was a kid, Pokemon wasn’t like it is now. Sigh.

Well, I imagine Growlithe’s would make for great service dogs for that, and it’s possible that Psychic types could let you “see” through some kind of mental-link.

Just go play some other RPG games, that’s what I did, and I was thoroughly blown away, go try Persona or the Trails games, they blow Pokemon out of the water in so many different ways.
 
Hell the “Tales Of” series is pretty good too

One of the things that I enjoy about Pokemon adventures is how it is faithful to the plot of the games but still tries to do its own thing. For example, Silver has actual motivations for his behavior instead of acting like a jerk for the heck of it.

I don’t have an RPG itch in that way, but I enjoy Digimon.  
I’m not interested in RPGs without monster raising.

Persona does sort of have that though with the actual Persona’s themselves, They have their own set of levels independent of the main character, and their own move sets, and they have a fusion system similar to the Dragon Quest monster games as well.
 
Actually I think all of these things hold true for the shin megami tensei games.

The persona even have their own types, strengths and weaknesses and their own stats separate form the player character.
 
They might not technically be “Monster raising” games, but they’re pretty damn close.
 
I really don’t think you’d be disappointed if you gave them a try
