One thing that’s striking about SpongeBob SquarePants’ explosion in popularity is how quickly it burned Stephen Hillenburg out midway into the second season.

I know that was a passion project of his for years (he conceived the concept in the mid 80s while he was a marine biologist), but I don’t think he intended for it to take over his life completely.

That’s apparently why Peter Laird sold Ninja Turtles to Nickelodeon in 2010, because he was burnt out on managing the franchise, and merch’ for so long.

Yeah. His partner Kevin Eastman actually left Mirage Comics because of how much the Turtles were taking up his work (though when IDW relaunched the comics post-sale, he was more than happy to come back).

Watching Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends makes me understand Lauren Faust’s eccentric energetic writing style. Especially the scenes involving running.

In an ideal world there would have been a crossover of FIM and Foster’s.

Man the animation looks great I’ll catch up with this sometime. It’s artstyle is very atypical for the usual indie animation videos. I really like it. It looks charming.

It’s pretty good so far! I’ve made it through the first half of season one. I’m liking the vibe of it—it’s got an X-Files for kids sort of feeling with the mystery, which makes it stand out.

The characters and their dynamics lead to a lot of humor. Grunkle Stan is such a moneygrubbing asshole and it makes him really hilarious in how that’s all he cares about. Wendy is a cutie. I still haven’t decided whether I find Mabel’s hyperactive personality to be funny or annoying.

I can already tell there’s gonna be more mystery coming up with this show, and I can’t wait. Personally, I’m interested in meeting the Triangle Man, who I’ve already been spoiled about but am still down to see what he’s actually like.

I didn’t like “Inside Job” much, aside from a funny K.Rool in Smash Bros. reference they did.

Gravity Falls has given me an impossible challenge: Have a character voiced by Linda Cardellini and expect me not to simp for her. XD

Crashbox was a kids’ show that aired on HBO from February, 1999 to April, 2000.

Think of it like a stop-motion, “edutainment” game show for kids.

HBO Family still airs reruns to this day, which is kinda wild given how old it is.
