Just got back from seeing Across the Spider-Verse, and it was cool. The references were too many to count, and I like they added some from the Sam Raimi and Mark Web films.
The first half of the film can be a little tedious to get through, but once we get to the Spider-Verse it gets good, and the movie ends on a cliffhanger setting up the next movie which I’m sure will be just as epic, and we’ll get to see Peni, Noir, and Spider Pig return as well.

Do you ever think about the fact that there’s an entire generation of people who only know about Nosferatu from an episode of Spongebob?

also love triangles fucking would have dragged this down movie so bad with stupid drama instead of the good drama.

the mysteries just gets deeper and deeper.

I didn’t see Japanese Spider-Man in the movie. So, I hope we get to see him along with his mecha, Leopardon, in Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Shoot, the second Spiderverse story had all 3 different Japanese Spidermen show up in the same panel.

I mentioned the Manga earlier.

I made a playlist of different language versions of the song “Yer Beautiful, Baby” from Thumbelina.

It’s fascinating seeing how different languages handled the song, with translation and voices.
In the Finnish version, the voice actor of Berkley Beetle (I think that’s his name) also provides the voice of Iago in the Finnish dub of Aladdin.

For anyone who has watched 80s cartoons, what would you say is the difference between a good 80s cartoon and a bad one?

Some like Transformers are beloved to this day but others like that Dragons Lair cartoon are basically forgotten.

Well during the 80s we got Heman, Thundercats, TMNT.

Now we only have two of them nowadays. Thundercats has been revived twice and once during a good story portion of the series the other is for teh kidz.
Heman I think only got revived once and it was wierd.
TMNT has been revived multiple times. The less said about the goofiness of giving Michelangelo a grappling hook the better.

So yeah all three of those are basically very good.

But I mean if you want a Cartoon which nobody has even heard of try Bananaman.

Admittedly, its often related to the characters if I have to guess.
Everybody and their mother know for example Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee and Starscream to name a few, withthe Thundercats Lion-O is often fondly remembered, and a lot of people know the names of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello as well as Master Splinter, Shredder and April O’Neil.

More often than not, when your characters are unforgettable, the show can usually find it’s grounding, otherwise it’s hard to get invested.
