I mean, I grew up poor and went through public education.

What irks me is that I was the first in my immediate family to ACTUALLY GRADUATE FUCKING HIGH SCHOOL. My two older siblings and one of my younger brothers either had to get their GEDs in their twenties or thirties or go without.

Yet they’ve managed to do much better than me financially. I’m 35 and I still live in my dad’s basement with one of my youngest brothers. Right now, there’s no affordable housing currently available that doesn’t require me to be a fucking BYU student. (BYU housing is pretty much the only “affordable housing” in Provo.)

But least my car is paid off.

Don’t sweat living with your folks.

I moved back in with mine recently after changing positions and moving back to my hometown area.

The market is weird right now and there’s no shame in having to make some tough choices.

What kind of jobs have you applied for?

None, yet. I’m actually thinking about getting back into art (part-time at first, obviously.) Make my own stuff and sell it either on the streets, on the classifieds or at cons.

I finally received a hard-to-find manga volume today.

Unfortunately, the volume is a defect. Missing the last 8 pages of the book.

That’s one avenue, but always have backups.

What would you say your marketable skills are?

I really didn’t have the forsight. When I was a kid I was told I was special (despite being abused) but i’m prob a bigger loser than most people here.

My vent is someone i know has weird blemishes on their skins that look like burns, they’re going to a dermatologist to check for skin cancer. I hope if this is bad it’s getting looked at in time.

We need to start skewering the educated class.
They are the real tyrants in society.

It really boggles my mind how this whole “body positivity” movement is able to go around declaring anorexia as unhealthy(which it is) but then endorse obesity as “realistic” and “healthy” body style when it is Infact just as unhealthy as the former.

How about this: no matter if you’re fat or skinny or even regular for that matter, you’re still a litle bitch who couldn’t last a second surviving in the wild. So why even bother debating who is healthy and who isn’t? You’re basically just living a life of comfort in the waiting room for death.

Exactly. It’s not to discourage taking care of oneself, but you know, if you think about it, modern life is incredibly safe, even if you have 0 muscle and a few extra pounds.

Kinda surprised no one’s commented on the missing pages thing.

Makes me curious if any other manga collector here on the forums has had this happen before.
