Among many people the disney movie lightyear is a bad movie because of something something lesbians bad but the reason I say it’s a bad movie is because it pastes over the entire lightyear lore for a bunch of anti alien BS. Everyone has kinda forgotten that buzz had an entire animated TV show’s worth of lore that’s just ignored. that said the twist about zerg from the movie would have been a hell of a twist if it was in the animated TV show.

Honest, the people whining about the gay kiss are the minority and most think it was a poorly done movie.

As someone who saw the movie in theaters, that gay kiss was the least of that movie’s problems. In fact I didn’t have a problem with it at all, it was just people getting riled up over nothing because I guess getting riled up over human trafficking or hungry children in Africa isn’t a thing anymore. That twist at the end didn’t make any sense whatsoever, I was just scratching my head

I think we as a society need to collectively abandon the trope of “Adult loser who still lives with his parents.”

Maybe that trope served a purpose at one point in time, but in this economy, a lot of people are unable to move out of their parents’ place or have had to move back in with them simply because they can’t afford a place of their own, even when they have a job. Yet living with your parents as an adult still continues to be used as a primary trait of overgrown manchildren in media, and all it does is make those of us who have had to move back in with our parents feel worse about our situations.

Not to mention, it doesn’t even hold up outside of America. In a lot of other countries, especially Spanish-speaking countries, it’s common for multiple generations to live in the same household even when all family members are adults.

Honestly, plenty of other cultures live in generational housing. Living with your family never should have made anyone a “loser”.

That’s what I was saying in that last section, yeah. I’m guessing that in America, after World War II especially we had this real sense of individualism, so living on one’s own and being able to afford a house was seen as a rite of passage into adulthood, so those who didn’t were seen as somehow less adult. And that sucks for many of us who simply haven’t been able to afford to move out or had to move back in, because we now feel like we’ve not been able to fully become adults, even if we’re well into our 20s.

Same thing here. Still living with my parents despite having a job myself, but affording a place with minimum wage is practically impossible. I also hope people who actually believe that kind of crap realize their parents would eventually be gone and should learn to cherish every minute left with them.

Exactly. It’s multifaceted—in theory, those who live with their parents are seen as unambitious and lazy, but I have a job at a cybersecurity company and I am a musician who’s gone on tour of the U.S. Yet I still live with my parents. I certainly wouldn’t say I’m lazy or lacking in ambition or motivation.

Plus, yeah, as you said, we don’t know how long our parents will be alive, and we should cherish our time with them while we can. I personally love the fact that my parents have been so willing to house me while I’ve been saving up for a place of my own. Many other parents wouldn’t do so for their kids and would kick them out once they became adults.

This looks to me more like of a rich westerner people culture.

It’s severely NOT going to apply to folks like us down here. We all live in the same roof and got each others back when needed to.

Agree so much, especially because like you said, rent and housing costs are very expensive to those who work menial jobs and even those who do have a well paying job have to worry about high taxes, expensive bills for the house, insurance, etc.

Theres nothing shameful in a family sticking together and supporting each other.

Its one of the things modern western societies forget that we live in a community for a reason.

Now that Ive reached Pokemon Advanced Battle, Im kinda getting a little tired of Team Rocket.

Its not even 2010, and I swear if I hear one more “Ha ha that wont work our machine is electric proof!” I think I’ll go crazy.

Somehow they even manage to find a way to interrupt Ashs gym battles.

Did they have to be in every single episode? Can they not take a vacation?

I didn’t like it myself. It felt like they were scared to have them be goofs. That was the season I dropped the show actually (and the game generation where I decided to carry over my teams going forwards and actually make teams instead of starter solo most games).

From my brief look into an article if it involved an explosion then I think the solution could have been to find a way to write it WITHOUT an explosion.

They didnt have to go so far as to get rid of any mention of the conflict since that doesnt have to do with disasters.

I imagine the episodes were already animated and it would be pretty much impossible to re-animate everything.

Finally watched Joker 2 recently. I love the 2019 film and heard a lot of hate directed at this sequel. While it’s not flawless and I prefer the first film overall, I loved Joker 2. It’s beautifully made with gorgeous cinematography and a compelling story about Arthur’s identity and who he truly is (And what the Joker identity really is). It has another fantastic performance from Joaquin Phoenix and a great performance from Lady Gaga as this new and more manipulative take on Harley Quinn. And though I heard a lot of complaining about them before, I thought the musical sequences were great (My personal favorite being the one during Arthur’s trial). And I loved the ending as well. I don’t think it undermines the first film at all. Arthur may not have been the Joker we traditionally know, but he was the original Joker here and the legacy of the Joker goes on way past Arthur’s life.

I know a lot of people will disagree with this, but it’s how I feel. I loved it.

“Co-worker movies/shows/music/ect” is the absolutely dumbest name for a “genre” i’ve ever heard and the people who use it just reek of pretentiousness over the fact that they don’t like something popular/mainstream

Using aztecs as a representation of Mexico as a country is a misconception. The aztecs only roughly lived in a relatively small central area of what current day it’s Mexico the country.

That statement is a paradox. If you remember it, and enough other people are commenting on your post, then it clearly left a cultural impact.
