Not sure if Minecraft movie is old news yet but ironically I heard the director saying he wanted to avoid the problems of the original Sonic movie.

It’s clear he probably he focused on the wrong aspects. I heard the designs of creatures are pretty faithful but to a fault which is the opposite problem of the Sonic movie.

They should have learned from Sonic to make the movie cartoonishly pleasing.

When you don’t do your full research.

It’s funny because the Minecraft movie was in an even longer phase of development limbo than the Sonic movie (at least the iteration that we got; that one started in 2013) was.

Are tbey talking about ugly Sonic? Do they think that Minecraft sheep isn’t ugly?

If “Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)” gets a sequel, will the Minecraft Movie Sheep appear in it, just like how Ugly Sonic appeared in the 2022 movie? I wonder what the Lonely Island is up to right now?

I finally finished all of Jojo Bizarre Adventure anime. All six parts… Including Stone Ocean.

I think the thing that bothers me most about the Minecraft movie is that, from the looks of it, ir perfectly encapsulates the biggest problem in Hollywood.

They were given the chance to adapt a blankslate game, perhaps the perfect game for 100% creative freedom to build their own story. A game literally built on creativity, that has had millions of people make story maps and play-throughs of, and yet…it seems they decided to just ape Jumanji and go for the “random Joe Smogs get stuck in a game and have to magic their way out by learning lessons” shit that has been done a million times.

Infinite creative potential, and that’s what they settled on?

Hollywood has been extremely risk-averse for the past two decades now.

They wanted to go the “safe” route and try to appeal to everyone young and old…and they wound up pleasing no one.

The continued decline of movie theater traffic has made executives- and creatives - more risk-averse than ever.

Not coincidentally that’s when theatrical attendance began falling.

I had a dumb shower thought that they would have legit been better off saying fuck it and ringing up the Yogscast and making a live action Shadow of Israfel movie. At least that would have been out of left field enough to be interesting.

Is Telekinesis technically a projectile ability similar to a Fireball or Icicle Blast?

Kinda in a debate at the moment…

Depends on the origin point of the ability, which itself is dependent on the series.

Generally, telekinesis originates at the object being effected so it’s not a projectile in the colloquial sense. Psychokinesis originates from the user, so in practice acts like a projectile.
