What are some useless facts? Facts that will not help me in any way, other than being interesting.Maine is the only state that has a one-syllable name. There are only four words in the English language which end in “dous”: tremendous, horrendous, stupendous, and hazardous. A sign language alphabet cat has 32 muscles in each ear. An ostrich’s eye is bigger than its brain.The average person walks the equivalent of five times around the world in their lifetime. Unless you’re a bit of a couch potato, you will, on average, walk around 7,500 steps daily. The average person lives until they’re 80, so it works out that you’ll walk about 110,000 miles (177,027 km) in your lifetime.

Tbf, just saying “X is used in Y” doesn’t really mean much. Like, you can say water is used in lead-acid batteries; doesn’t mean ingesting water is bad.
From what I found, although the effect of taurine is not entirely clear yet, taurine is naturally found in foods with protein, and the human body can produce it as well.
@Hopen Way
Well when I wrote that taurine post, it wasn’t with the implication that it was a bad thing. I am aware that a lot of food has chemicals that are also used in everyday items and they’re not usually harmless. I’m just stating on how unusual it is.
In the 1990’s, British company Hoover ran a promotion where anyone who spent over £100 in Hoover products would receive a free air ticket to the United States. Underestimating the power of demand and not having enough money to give away the promised tickets, litigation ensued amidst backlash when the company tried to cancel the promotion too late into its run. This would lead the company to sell itself off to another company as a result.
During the American Revolution, plays were forbidden by the Continental Congress. The Yankees saw them as aristocratic and wasteful activities. No doubt influenced by the Puritans’ work ethic and dislike of theater.
Washington, being a Southern plantation owner, however had no qualms and showed a play to his men at Valley Forge. A play about Roman Republic rebelling against Julius Caesar.
The representation of women varies across the active duty components. Women are most represented in the Air Force (20 percent of the total enlisted force) and least represented in the Marine Corps (a little over 6 percent of the enlisted force).

Ray Kroc didn’t found McDonald’s, he just took it over from the McDonald brothers who were the restaurant’s namesake and turned it into an enterprise

I know, it was founded by the McDonald’s Brothers, it was just easier to say “founder” for the post. Plus it doesn’t take away from the point as a whole.
The first video to hit one billion views on YouTube was a music video of Gangnam Style by Psy. It once had an 8-bit of him dancing next to the view count and again as two when it hit the 2 billion milestone.
In 2008, NASA beamed the song “Across The Universe” by The Beatles to the star Polaris to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the song’s recording and the 50th anniversary of NASA.
There’s a tale about someone from Sevilla Andalucia named Pedro Bohorquez.
He became famous for spending two years pretending to be an incan king and the natives around him believed him with his capital in Tolombón, even getting into fights against spanish governors until he apparently got bored.
