So, I’m going to be attending a small, local con in February as a perler bead vendor (among other small knickknacks), and just like the lazy ass I am, I haven’t even started making my stock yet. Which is a problem. So, I need ideas, and I would prefer to not use patterns (unless the artist has stated that they don’t need credit), since it would kind of suck to profit off of someone else’s art.

If you still have no idea what perler beads are, click here.

Please note that I’m looking to make many perlers for my booth, and therefore cannot make huge works like this or this (Pokemon sprites are nightmares). It looks easy enough to do until you actually start laying out the beads. If I am to do one, however, I’d only do about one. I’m looking for small ideas.

So far, I have:

  • Green bows printed with the Triforce (they’ve got little hairclips so you can attach them in your hair, here’s what it looks like. If you have any other suggestions for patterns, note the size of the triforce itself.)

  • Navi

  • Puppycat’s head

  • Sailor Moon’s Transformation Pen

And…that’s it. I’ll update the list as I work.

  • Mini Sailor Mercuries

    Planning)

  • Zeldas (not too many, because she’s pretty huge and I rather not have too many expensive perlers)

  • Gardevoir sprites

Small overworld sprites from RPG series such as Final Fantasy maybe?

EDIT: I’d show you some examples, but my go-to sprite site is down ATM.

^ Sprites are the best patterns I know of for perler beads.

You want to keep around or below the 100x100 range for mass-production, though. I made a Hamtaro very similar to this one before and although he’s completely adorable, he’s a little on the big side and he was a pain to keep from becoming a game of Perfection anytime my hand ever lightly tapped any of the pattern boards.

A lot of people like the mini pokemon sprites that appear when you pull up your team or look in your PC Box as perlers, those should be fairly easy to make in big amounts. C:

Oh, oh! How about the Nidhogg guys and the giant worm?

The game has been trending lately, I’m sure perlers of them would be in demand :P
