The government should not be involved in marriage at all. Let alone deciding what kinds are acceptable.
 
Make it equal by eliminating all benefits and subsidies related to it.

One of my best friends, Kirb, who is also a user on here, has been inactive for a few months. Ever since he moved to Canada a year and a few months ago, he has been less and less active and has dropped contact with several of his friends.
 
Finally, he messaged me today. To sum it up, he said that he is going full reclusive. He will stop posting things online and will only occasionally check his social media accounts. He says that he is still with his girlfriend, but it is “complicated,” and from now on, he will be pursuing other interests besides art and fanfiction.
 
Now, this is his own choice, but I wish I knew more about why he is doing this.

Yeah. I wonder why he is doing this. Perhaps he is just fed up with he brony fandom? But no, that doesn’t explain why he is dropping me, or why he brought up his girlfriend. Maybe he and his girlfriend really are broken up? Perhaps he and his girlfriend are going to try having a kid? I don’t know.

That alone most likely means a drastic shift in his social situation.

I can’t imagine a year is really enough to acclimate in full to living in an whole other nation. Even French!America.

Yeah, plus he’s finally moved out on his own, but going full reclusive? Is that normal? I don’t know. As an RL friend, it is my right to be concerned, or at least I think so. Especially since the last messages he’d sent me before now were him regretting moving to Canada and fearing that his girlfriend would leave him.

True enough. Let’s hope for the best for his sake. Perhaps he’ll move back down here. Who knows? He hasn’t entirely burned bridges with the US.

He moved because he was sick of this town and many of the people in it. Considering that he left his mother due to her being irresponsible, he clearly didn’t move with her.

And by irresponsible, I assume his mother had some sort of drug problem right? Although if you feel uncomfortable saying if that’s the case, that’s fine.
