Speaking of Paper Jam, isnt anyone else surprised that the game is coming earlier? It’s already released in Japan and once January comes around its going to be here in the US.

I read a bunch of reviews regarding Paper Jam; simply put, its going to be fun, but the pacing is rushed and the story is bland and not very inspirational, unlike the other previous entries.
I’m very disappointed to know that this game’s story isn’t something to get hyped over. It’s just too straightforward.

I heard the comedy itself is stellar. There’s some really funny moments with top-notch comic timing. I’ve seen some funny shots of a scene where Peach and Paper Peach are in a cage, and Peach asks how they’re going to get out. Without saying a word, Paper Peach turns around, slowly walks and goes right between the bars at the side of the cage, and turns to face Peach again.

Comedy is practically key for the Mario & Luigi series, its one of the reasons why its my favorite.
However, when it comes to the stories its always totch notch with its many events and scenarios are rememberable for each game. Just being aware that this game’s story is pretty weak makes me think Alpha Dream has gotten lazy, which is bad beacuse this is the first time we’re gonna have two series crossover with each other and many fans are expecting something big out of the story.
But instead, Alpha Dream went the route of being generic with the plot for the remainder of the game; no curve ball or anything like that. It’s even worse, like I said before, Paper Jam was originally suppose to come out in Spring 2016, which adds more to why I’m upset.

Well it would help if Nintendo released a Paper Mario title on the WiiU.

Honestly, with how I have seen some peoples thoughts on the last two Paper Mario games I could care less if the story of Paper Jam is generic.
The game as a whole can be great but I have a feeling people are going to think the one that had the almost nonexistent RPG elements is going to be better and miss that that Paper Mario is meant to be an RPG.
I know some don’t like Sticker Star but I like it because damn it, it has a battle system, Super didn’t and I felt cheated.

Speaking of Super it does have a better story than Sticker Star.

Also where is this news of Paper Jam being that much earlier anyway?
For what I remember it was on for “2016”, this tend to mean one of two things.
For what I remember it was on for “2016”, this tend to mean one of two things.
- Very early in the year as in first quarter, and to make it easy to understand they say “Spring” as the bulk of first quarter is that season.
- It’s sure when it will be out and this tends to only be said on the first announcement when there are next too nothing to show.
For what I have seen the push only puts in out about a month early in everywhere but the US.

Eh I gave it a pass because of the story and it kinda did play like a Mario title that I’ve never seen before. I mean look at Super Paper Mario as a whole. It’s like they combined Mario elements to RPG more than any other title. That includes Mario RPG, and the Mario and Luigi games as well. The only thing you don’t have in the game is a Turn based system which I kinda liked to be honest.

And I give Sticker Star a pass because it has the turn based system for battles.
It’s not the early days of video game, now in days when you start new series you need to know what kid it’s going to be as you have so much to look back on and pick, after the second game you have set what it will be like.
So to have a game that removed a big part then it been seen as better then the next that had that part back in just bugs me.

GoNintendo tends to stay up to date with almost anything Nintendo related. Many links of a few critics and members on certain Nintendo news sites got the game early and shared their experiences.

I know that, but you where making it seem like it was very early and it’s really not.
Everything I have seen put it’s about a month earlier then it was first meant to be, and the last months of development tends to be about fixes and stuff.
It’s not really surprising for it to be this much earlier.

Wait I’m not understanding. When they said Spring that’s likely around April and June. How is production done many months earlier?

Unless they name a month then the time given is a rough estament.
And the end of development is fixing bugs and polishing elements.

Hmm…okay I can see it’s not as farfetched as I thought it was. I also noticed the game wasn’t given a specific quarter of the year’s release time, so that probably explains alot.
…but still, wish Alpha Dream would put more time and effort with the story and other aspects of the game. I wasn’t too kin with returning Bro Attacks and I read that the most tideous part of the game are the Toad Missions.

Even though I’m waiting to play the game myself but I read the comments about Paper Jam anyway, why do I feel that the reason Paper Jam’s story is very underwhelming is that like with Sticker Star, its under the effect of one of the stupidest things Miyamoto ever said in his career? (Which is “Paper Mario is fine without a story”)
SuperDEF
@Red-Supernova
I once read from a YouTube comment that Miyamoto made an apologie to the fans regarding Sticker Star, but I’m not sure how true that statement was.
Anyways, the story may end up as a letdown, but what I’m really looking forward to are the many jokes and references, which I read are a ton of them in the game. Paper Mario is what’s really going to be the highlight of the battle system, so I’m expecting a lot from that.

Stories of “X made an apology to the fans of Y” tend to be ether somthing taken very out of context, often a mistake in a part but not the whole, or lies made by people to justify their hate for one part of something and have the high ground for it, so it’s understandable to not be sure if it’s true.

He did? I didn’t know Miyamoto made reactions to the fans’ freeback. And if he did, you’d think he would only acknowledge them if they were about the Mario games that he personally made.
Good. The humor in the Mario RPGs are always something to look forward to. I just wish that Paper Luigi could be playable though.
I heard the game is also Amiibo compatible, I’m looking forward into seeing how that will work considering my growing Amiibo collection. :3

Did some checking and for what I can see the thing of Miyamoto making an apology for Sticker Star, it;s bull.
I could only find one thing with a statement of what Miyamoto was thinking for it
There was a Iwata Asks article that had Kensuke Tanabe talk of how Miyamoto pushed for no story to it and then the team did a survey with Club Nintendo to see what people thought of the story in Super Paper Mario and it came back with less then 1% thinking it was interesting, so that’s why the story in SS is how it is.
And that’s it.
All other things I can find are “I heard X make an apology” or “X should apologize for it”.

Well when you have an interesting villain like Count Bleck be replace by Bowser AGAIN. It’s pretty substandard to what you got yourself into.
Also Sticker Star has Decalburg the worst Central Hub town in a Paper Mario game.
The other three are interesting places. I mean Super has some good ideas for some experimentation but it didn’t execute well enough. The other is Decalburg is just an inventory game. HOPE YOU LIKE BUYING ITEMS WITH COINS THAT YOU GOT ALL GAME LONG BECAUSE THAT IS ALL YOU ARE GONNA DO ALL GAME LONG!!!
